"Do you know where Thanos took Gamora?"
Upon hearing Mantis speak, Star-Lord Peter Quill hurriedly turned to ask her.
Gamora and Star-Lord Peter Quill had an ambiguous relationship within the Guardians of the Galaxy. They had hugged, kissed, and slept together, but Gamora had always harbored various reservations. Though her relationship with Star-Lord Peter Quill went beyond that of ordinary friends, Gamora never acknowledged Star-Lord Peter Quill as her boyfriend.
Star-Lord Peter Quill naturally knew the reason, and even the other Guardians of the Galaxy knew it. Her adoptive father was Thanos. She feared Thanos would find the Guardians of the Galaxy and hurt them, so Gamora had always kept Star-Lord Peter Quill at arm's length.
But in truth, they had only guessed half of it right. It was not merely because she feared Thanos would hurt them; Gamora also knew the location of the Soul Stone.
Gamora did not want Thanos to obtain the power of the Infinity Stones.

Destroyer Drax also turned his head, glaring at Mantis with eyes burning with rage as he roared.

She asked me to say goodbye to all of you, especially you, Quill. Gamora said she spent a very happy time with you. She told you not to look for her, and to forget her."
"Damn it!!!" Star-Lord Peter Quill's face was filled with rage and grief. He punched the spaceship wall hard, producing a loud boom.
