"Master, Oa Star is requesting communication." Zero's voice rang out in the holographic Solar System command room.
"Hmm?" He-El raised an eyebrow slightly, a trace of thought flickering in his deep gaze.
Why was Oa Star contacting him now?
Both sides were preparing for war, getting ready to fight each other, and they wanted to talk now?
Were they surrendering?
"Put them through," He-El said. His standing figure fell backward, and a black-and-gold throne materialized behind him, catching him and letting him recline in comfort.
The instant the connection went through, an image appeared before He-El. Enormous peaks pierced the clouds, their occupants level with his seated figure. Beings of all shapes and colors stood atop the peaks, watching him as though they were watching a circus.
"So this is the Emperor of New Krypton?" At the Oa Pan-Stellar Domain Alliance's meeting site, above the towering peaks, an image of He-El reclining comfortably on his throne appeared in the sky. More than two hundred pairs of eyes belonging to Stellar-class powerhouses turned toward him.
There were only a hundred and fifty-five Stellar-class powerhouses present, so why were there two hundred pairs of eyes?
Because several of those powerhouses had more than ten pairs of eyes each.
"He looks utterly ordinary," one Stellar-class powerhouse said, looking at He-El in puzzlement.
Though an image could not convey much of his presence, He-El's comfortable, languid posture on the throne gave them no sense of threat whatsoever.
"Since you dared to show yourself, I acknowledge that you are worthy of being defeated by me, Emperor of New Krypton," a young Stellar-class powerhouse said confidently, regarding He-El with appreciation.
Courage was the most important quality a living being could possess.
Take the forty-five Stellar-class powerhouses of the Oa Pan-Stellar Domain Alliance who had not come.
