He-El watched from the luxury suite two rooms away as Lucy was taken into a room Mr. Zhang had seized. Mr. Zhang had even personally killed the intermediary who had caused him to lose the initiative by feeding him delayed information.
There were corpses in the room, several burly men stationed around it, and Mr. Zhang, his face smeared with blood, calmly washing his hands under bottled mineral water poured by one of his subordinates.
Mr. Zhang and his men called the Jinghua Hotel front desk and had them translate as they interrogated Lucy.
Lucy trembled in terror, desperately and repeatedly telling them everything she knew.
Once he confirmed that Lucy had hidden nothing, Mr. Zhang was deeply disappointed. He already distrusted his partner enough that he had not even gone up to the presidential suite, instead killing the intermediary in the luxury suite. Naturally, he trusted Lucy, who had come to deliver the goods, even less.
Mr. Zhang directly gave Lucy the combination to the silver briefcase and had her open it herself through the translator on the phone.
Then Mr. Zhang stepped out of the room and leaned against the wall beside the door. His other subordinates raised transparent riot shields and pistols, watching Lucy warily.
"God bless me!"
Lucy was terrified out of her mind. All she could do was pray for God's protection as she entered the combination with trembling hands.
Fortunately, there was no poisonous gas or any of the safeguards Mr. Zhang and his men had feared.
"What's inside?" Mr. Zhang and the others remained wary as they asked Lucy what was in it.
"There are four plastic bags filled with blue powdery granules. I don't know what they are. I can't explain it any better." Lucy looked at the silver combination briefcase and
