"Matt, bear with it." Steve extended his index finger toward the bullet hole in Matt's chest.
"Do it. I can take it." Matt was drenched in sweat, his eyes filled with pain as he gritted his teeth.
Steve nodded. After exchanging a glance with Chen Hai, he concentrated his telekinetic power at his fingertip. The telekinesis seeped from his finger and probed into the bullet hole in Matt's chest. When it touched the bullet, Matt could not help but shudder.
Steve held his breath and steadied himself. His telekinesis clung tightly to the tail of the bullet, then he forcefully pulled.
"Aah!" Matt gritted his teeth and cried out in agony as a streak of blood sprayed out with the bullet.
Chen Hai stepped forward calmly. He pinned Matt down with one hand and poured disinfecting alcohol into his wound with the other. Matt's face turned crimson from the pain as he let out an even louder scream, held firmly in place by Chen Hai.
Once it seemed sufficiently disinfected, Chen Hai plugged Matt's wound with cotton to stop the bleeding, then wrapped gauze around him to cover it.
The entire process was as crude as could be.
Matt's face, flushed red from the pain, instantly turned pale again—paler than before.
"Matt, are you okay?" Seeing Matt's face go from red to white, looking even paler than before, Steve asked worriedly.
Matt was in too much pain to speak.
"Let him rest for a while. The wound doesn't look too serious, and he must be exhausted," Chen Hai said to Steve, glancing at Matt lying on the bed.
Steve looked at Matt. His face did seem terribly pale, but he still managed to smile back at him. He seemed fine, so Steve finally let out a breath of relief.
