The Existence Within Zeus—The Spectre
"Gone?!" Outside the Doomsday Warship, Zeus, who had been waiting for He-El, sharpened his gaze toward where the Doomsday Warship had been moments ago.
Not only had the Doomsday Warship vanished, but He-El had vanished with it, disappearing before his eyes.
All of a sudden.
Zeus's vision plunged into darkness, and he lost consciousness.
A green phantom emerged from Zeus's body. A green hooded cloak spread from behind him, covering Zeus's face.
The green hooded cloak completely enveloped Zeus, concealing the divine radiance he had been emitting into the cosmos beneath darkness. Only the darkness beneath that green hooded cloak remained.
Within the green hooded cloak, in the darkness of its hood, a pair of eyes gleamed with judgment upon sin, as though they had appeared within the blackest, darkest, lightless evil Hell.
The Spectre!
After God created the world, good and evil gradually came to exist. To punish evil and promote good, The Presence created His messengers, each representing one aspect of Him.
At first, The Presence created Sky-Eater, the Spirit of His Wrath. Sky-Eater's true name was Galid, and driven by rage, he cleansed the world of sin.
But God felt that vengeance was more perceptive and necessary, so He created The Spectre, the Spirit of Vengeance. The Spectre's true name was Aztar.
To balance the Spirit of Vengeance, God then created the Spirit of Mercy, whose true name was Light Point.
The Spectre stripped Sky-Eater of his power, tore him apart, and imprisoned him within the black diamond, the "Heart of Darkness." Thus, he obtained the duty of punishing evil and promoting good.
That was roughly how The Spectre came into being.
