"Come on. I'll take you to Other World. You need to see King Yemma." Kami leaned on his wooden staff and led He-El through a gate connecting the worlds of the living and the dead, then down a dim corridor to another gate.

Passing through this gate brought them to Other World.

The scenery of Other World was actually no different from the living world. There were flowers and grass, as well as a deep blue sky.

"So this is Other World? It really is somewhat different from the living world." He-El gazed at the distant sky of Other World, sensing that its operating logic differed somewhat from that of the living world in Dragon Ball. He did not dwell on it, however, and simply followed Kami onward.

"Only by passing through Snake Way in Other World, beginning at Snake Head, and traveling up Snake Way to Kais Planet can one meet King Kai," Kami explained as he led He-El to Yemma's Palace.

King Yemma sat within Yemma's Palace. He was enormous, his head a third the size of his body. His broad, catlike purple-red face was stern and dignified, imposing even without anger. His sideburns and hair joined together, completely covering his neck. He wore a horned hat and a blue pinstriped suit.

King Yemma was the manager of the underworld in the universe, the ruler and judge of the other world. Thus, he had the authority to decide the Destiny of any dead person. No matter what race they belonged to or what planet they came from, he could decide whether they went to Heaven or Hell.

After death, everyone had to face his judgment. Good people went to Heaven, while evil people went to Hell. It was the same whether they were Earthlings or aliens from elsewhere
