In the dark, cold, and profound starry sky, He-El and Bulma's spaceship sailed through the universe.
Their spaceship was fast. Over the past few years, they had passed through dozens of planets, most of them barren dead worlds devoid of life.
In the vast, frigid universe, finding a planet with life was a luxury.
More often than not, traveling through space meant enduring long stretches of boundless loneliness and boredom.
If He-El had not been able to contact North Kai and have him guide He-El and Bulma through the universe, Bulma would probably have gone stir-crazy over the past few years.
"North Kai... pointed out a route where I haven't encountered anyone from the events I remember." He-El sat in the command room, studying the interstellar route North Kai had indicated.
Most of them were planets with distinctive characteristics, capable of satisfying the fresh appeal of "travel."
When He-El left Planet Namek, he had thought he would encounter at least some people from the events he remembered.
But after traveling for several years, He-El felt that he had overestimated both Frieza's sphere of influence and his title of "Cosmic Emperor."
In the vast, boundless universe, the territory Frieza occupied was merely a tiny patch. It could only be considered a corner where he held sway. He-El and Bulma had not encountered or set foot in any of Frieza's territory during their travels.
Of course, it was also possible that North Kai did not want him to run into Frieza, which was why the route he had pointed out never crossed into Frieza's territory.
He-El believed that was the case.
In fact, during this journey through the universe, He-El and Bulma had not encountered any major cosmic powers either. The planets they visited had not yet even left their own worlds.
