Alaska covered 1,717,854 square kilometers, roughly five times Germany's land area, but its population was only around 720,000.
Germany's population was approximately 82.93 million.
He-El's bio-magnetic field spread across Alaska. Sweeping through the night sky, he conquered the state in under five minutes.
He formally ordered the former mayors, police chiefs, and others to step down. He had Dawn notify the newly selected mayors and police chiefs across the state to take office, carrying tablets, phones, and other communication devices as they awaited orders to keep the cities peaceful and maintain order.
As for the municipal and police systems, He-El did not kill too many high-ranking officials. He simply ordered them to step down at once, then promoted officials and deputy chiefs two or three levels below them.
Naturally, some refused to accept his orders. He-El could not even be bothered with them. He simply crushed them with his bio-magnetic field until they became clouds of blood mist and vanished. New people could take their places, follow instructions, and erase the old influence.
Perhaps they would still accept his orders verbally through their shock and uncertainty while secretly maintaining the old political structure, but that did not matter to He-El.
Once twenty-four hours had passed and he held a press conference to announce his rule over the country, they would naturally obey.
As for the military high command, He-El did not bother replacing them. He turned every major general, lieutenant general, and general above the rank of brigadier general into blood mist, eliminating them so they could not influence the military or stage rebellions later. That would only be troublesome.
Dawn directly took over the command center and issued orders to officers at colonel rank and below, stabilizing them one by one. There was no resistance at all.
How could they resist? They could not even see the enemy, yet their own generals had turned into blood mist and died. Where were they supposed to aim their M4A1s? Where were they supposed to throw their grenades?
Then orders came down through the command and communications center—official orders, even orders promoting them to brigadier general or major general. And they did not need to do much. Basically... they only had to maintain the status quo.
The military was instead remarkably quiet. The newly promoted major generals, brigadier generals, colonels, lieutenant colonels, and others waited eagerly for their promotions while maintaining military order.
No war broke out within the military, and not many soldiers died. It was within the cities that large numbers of civilians perished.
He-El believed he had told Dawn to give enough warnings. Anyone with a phone would receive an alert. But the land of freedom truly lived up to its freedom.
A large number of hip-hop players saw the empty streets and began looting, killing, setting fires, and treating He-El's warning as if it were nothing. They even set up a stage in plain sight on the street, blasting music as they gathered and shouted, "Yo, yo, alien, I'm not afraid of you! If you've got the guts, come face me..."
What the hell was that?
He-El directly blasted that group holding the hip-hop party into blood mist.
There were also plenty who thought the cities could descend into chaos and wanted to take the opportunity to commit crimes—looting, killing, and carrying out gang businesses that He-El could not stand, such as human trafficking, organ trafficking... and other inhumane acts. Within the range of He-El's sight and hearing, there were even more of them.
Some of those crimes were horrifying to witness. They were bases for the dark web.
In some places, entire cities were filled with blood mist, and the stench of blood lingered everywhere in the air.
He-El could not stand the sight of them, so they all ceased to exist.
He hovered above every state, blood-red light shining from his eyes like the morning star, yet terrifying like the demon Bleach.
Washington State—Oregon—California—Hawaii State—Arizona—Nevada—Idaho...
By the time He-El had flown this far, the death toll had already surpassed one million.
There were those in dark alleys, taking off their pants as they prepared to assault someone.
There were capitalists in lavish halls, swirling red wine and dominating the scene.
There were fearless youths who looked up at the red light and raised their middle fingers.
There were politicians hiding in air-raid shelters seven hundred meters underground, stocked with supplies.
There were powerful figures who thought they could run after offending He-El.
Yet the public opinion that he had not harmed many civilians seemed somewhat unusual.
Dawn had selectively locked down Earth's networks. Military bases, electronic information, and military equipment were her priorities, to prevent further trouble. She paid little attention to the networks used by ordinary people.
"He's here! He's above Texas!"
Someone photographed the sky. The striking red light shone like the morning star as it hovered over Texas.
"Thank God. I was taking my daughter home from work when we were blocked in an alley. I thought I could only watch helplessly as my daughter was violated. I'm so grateful to God, so grateful to him! Those beasts turned into blood mist right in front of me. It's wonderful that he exists!"
"He passed through my state. Every gang near my home is dead."
"Waaah... this is wonderful. I thought it would be a devastating war that swept across the world. Turns out he's an angel sent down by God."
"I finally got out of the dungeon. My organs were saved!"
"Praise him, my God. An angel has descended upon the world."
"It was terrifying. My new boyfriend turned into blood mist right beside me. The police found imprisoned girls in the cellar of his house."
"That's terrifying, but your public opinion is what's truly terrifying."
Online, countless people who had expected massive unrest and war suddenly discovered that in the areas He-El passed through, as long as one was not disrupting order or committing crimes, one was basically safe and unharmed. And along the way, He-El had wiped out a huge wave of criminal activity.
Inside the Oval Office, the president sat with graceful composure, a smile at the corners of his lips and a gentle gaze in his eyes. His thumb lightly rubbed an ivory pistol as he read the comments from people in the major states He-El had passed through.
His gentle gaze seemed to carry a hint of mockery.
"An angel of justice?"
"Are you mocking us through your actions?"
The president could not help but laugh.
How tragic. The stability humanity had always maintained had bred stable evil beneath it, and He-El had wiped it out without mercy.
Humanity could eliminate it too, but because the consequences would be too great, it had not.
So what was the point?
"What exactly do you want, alien?"
The president smiled, yet an urgent desire to speak with the alien arose within him.
He wanted to see what kind of idealist this fellow was.
He wanted to ask: without that power, what would an idealist like him become?
Alien, you are no greater than humanity.
The next instant, Heat Vision sliced through the entire White House, molten rock dripping from the searing cut.
The president was cut in half, his stunned face falling onto the blue carpet.
He-El withdrew his Heat Vision. His deep eyes glanced once at the country's most famous landmark as it sank into a sea of flames.
This was the final stop.
"I still made it in time to bask in the sun."
It had taken even less time than he expected. Everything had been settled in just one night.
The sky had already begun to pale with dawn.
He-El turned around and slowly rose. The gust of a sonic boom brushed across his face, and in an instant, he arrived at the Capitol Building and casually sat atop it.
The cool breeze was gentle. Smiling, He-El softly hummed a tune, his eyes half-closed.
Golden sunlight spilled over the horizon, shining upon He-El's face and making it gleam.
