"Dawn, point the observation satellite camera at His Majesty. I want to admire His Majesty's heroic bearing." Jupiter returned to her private office, turned on the screen, and gave Dawn the order expressionlessly.
"Sister Jupe, you're so hypocritical... Hehe." Dawn giggled innocently as she followed Jupiter's command, turning the satellite camera toward He-El's psychic force-field body and beginning the broadcast of the battle.
"Dawn, show me His Majesty's location."
"Dawn, I want to watch His Majesty's battle."
"Dawn, display His Majesty's footage."
"Dawn, who is attacking His Majesty?"
The mayors of cities such as New York, London, Paris, Toronto, Milan, São Paulo, Mexico, and Chicago, along with most members of the Humanity Self-Rescue Heroes Association, possessed the authority to access Dawn's satellite surveillance. Knowing that Edward would move against He-El, they all gave Dawn the same order, activating satellite surveillance to watch this battle.
Humanity's psychology teams had long since dissected He-El's psyche completely.
They had long known that they had already been discovered.
Yet He-El had not killed them outright.
Aside from their outstanding achievements in governing their cities, it was also because His Majesty wished to spread superpowers through broadcasts, using the wisdom and inspiration humanity displayed to create more superpowers and applications.
He was collecting data on superpowers, using Earth as an experimental ground and using humanity.
He also welcomed ability users who believed they had achieved something to challenge him, defeat him, and take the throne as Emperor of Earth.
This was already an open secret between He-El and the upper ranks of the He-El Empire.
Humanity maintained this tacit understanding.
"Edward Yorton, you truly are the most outstanding human on Earth!"
He-El marveled inwardly, then praised him with satisfaction.
He asked himself: after lying aboard the International Space Station for three months, he had spent every moment studying the applications of psychic abilities. His brain could read every published medical book within five minutes and master knowledge that ordinary people would need ten years to acquire.
He had read every psychology book on Earth concerning human behavior, thought, and ideas, applying them all to psychic abilities and developing every psychic ability that could possibly be developed.
He-El had never considered leaping through human minds, then using that to draw forth a massive psychic tide.
Why not?
Because only the weak needed a springboard.
Only those unable to arrive directly through the mind had to keep leaping through people's minds to reach He-El and face him.
But why would He-El need to jump around inside other people's minds? With a single thought, he could reach any place on Earth.
Even so, He-El had to praise Edward for possessing such an idea.
It was precisely these flashes of wisdom and inspiration from different perspectives that made He-El feel such brilliance and delight.
The psychic power Edward had stirred and drawn over came from more than a hundred million people. It seemed to merge with the sandy haze filling the sky, faintly forming Edward's face.
"All the cheers, praise, worship, envy, curses, insults, desires... all the minds directed toward you. The psychic power of more than five hundred million people, spanning a quarter of the Earth, has formed a psychic tide that will bury you in these yellow sands!"
Edward became an arrowhead, leading the enormous psychic tide as it surged toward He-El like a tsunami.
All those cheers, praise, worship, curses, insults, and desires... became a torrential flood of superfast particles, carrying complex emotions concerning He-El—insults, curses, envy, desires, and more—as Edward led them here to crash into He-El.
He-El stood proudly atop the palace, his mind sensing the tsunami-like psychic tide. Every particle gleamed and flickered, radiating emotions related to him.
It was truly breathtaking.
"You truly deserve to be humanity's strongest psychic grandmaster!"
Hovering above the palace, He-El could not help spreading his arms to welcome the incoming psychic tide.
This was a battle in the psychic dimension, unrelated to physics.
He-El's mind began to leap through the psychic tide, dancing like an elf as it darted through this tide of thoughts with varying intervals, differing order, and inconsistent emotions.
Not a single thought could come near his body. It was as though he were a particle facing a particle beam, moving upstream through a beam of unevenly spaced particles without a single one colliding with him. His mind was too agile, too precise.
He-El's psychic ability was stronger than everyone else's, and he controlled it more precisely than anyone else.
Psychic abilities were meant to be a contest of exceptional technique, so He-El did not meet the attack head-on. Instead, he too began to leap, learning Edward's psychic springboard in an instant and dancing through the massive psychic tide like an elf.
He-El had learned all of it.
He learned it at a glance.
The only difference was that Edward's psychic tide still required psychic springboards and shared targets in other people's thoughts before he could raise such a tide.
He-El was different. He alone could raise a psychic tide. He did not even need shared traits to turn other people's minds into individual waves within that tide, and those waves could be arranged densely and evenly, without gaps to exploit.
In an instant, he improved the applications of the psychic springboard and psychic tide, making them more complete, more controllable, and more powerful.
This was the brilliance of human wisdom and inspiration.
There was always a chance to see my own flaws.
"In the psychic dimension, no human can stand against you."
Edward sighed sincerely.
"And in the real world, no weapon can harm your physical body."
He-El also showed sincere admiration. "Your idea was impressive too. I look forward to the next time."
The transmission of information through the mind took almost no time. Edward's offensive had not ended; while transmitting those thoughts, he had already launched his attack.
"There will be no next time."
"In the psychic dimension, you are incomparably powerful. In the physical dimension, your body is invincible. But even if you possess the power of a god, you are still only human. In a corner you failed to notice, you have already lost!"
"The psychic tide was merely the beginning, meant to lure you into the trap yourself. The psychic tide's waves surrounding you on all sides are nothing more than the inescapable predicament I constructed specifically for you."
"Between the psychic dimension and the physical dimension, there is another dimension—false, yet real!"
"A tangible dimension you never noticed!"
"The dream dimension!"
"You have fallen into it. The first layer runs ten times faster than the outside world."
"The second layer runs one hundred times faster than the outside world."
"The third layer runs one thousand times faster than the outside world."
"The fourth layer runs ten thousand times faster than the outside world."
"The fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth... You will fade away on the tenth layer, in a span of time longer than the universe itself!"
