Though he was merely a portion of the consciousness controlling Loki, he was not something a creature with a body as weak as an ant could contend with.

What was more, he held the Mind Scepter, such a cosmic treasure, yet he had still fallen into a disadvantage.

Like a scorching burn, the antimatter ray tore a gap in the close-fitting yellow energy shield around his chest. The gap rapidly began to spread as though it were melting away. Even through Loki's body, he felt a wave of searing heat, making his heart tighten.

His opponent had already found a way to deal with the energy channeled through the Mind Scepter.

A large amount of energy was once again drawn from the Mind Scepter, swiftly repairing the torn gap.
