"Nick, be careful." In the square, He-El discreetly reminded Nick Fury.
"I will. We may still need some unusual or powerful Battle Power to prepare for the aliens. There won't be any accidents.
Us, Kamar-Taj, and the Avengers." Nick Fury smiled.
"I believe you." He-El smiled. "Good night."
"Good night," Nick Fury replied.
With that, He-El turned and boarded the Quinjet. Blue flames blasted from its exhaust as it flew toward the White House.
Nick Fury narrowed his eyes. The airflow from the Quinjet's takeoff made his trench coat flap violently as he watched it disappear toward the White House through the night. Only after a long while did he turn and head back to his S.H.I.E.L.D. director's office.
He had received He-El's permission, which let Nick Fury breathe a sigh of relief.
Aside from finding it slightly strange that He-El wanted S.H.I.E.L.D. to cooperate more closely with Kamar-Taj, He-El had essentially given him free rein over the Mind Scepter entrusted to his care.
What did Nick Fury use the Mind Scepter for?
He used it for experiments.
Some experiments that were not exactly humane, but could yield great power.
He truly could not let He-El find out about those experiments.
As an upright and honorable president, He-El absolutely could not know that the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. under his command was using the Mind Scepter he had been ordered to safeguard for inhumane experiments.
With something like the Mind Scepter, failing to make full use of it and merely locking it away would be the greatest waste.
Nick Fury had treated the Cosmic Cube the same way before.
He used it to the fullest extent possible to strengthen his own side's power.
Furthermore, what Ancient One and Stephen Strange had said about the future gave Nick Fury some worries in
