Vanaheim was also a realm of gods, an ancient kingdom of the exceptionally wise Vanir. Everything between heaven and earth—growth, reproduction, the seas, and the winds—was under the Vanir's control. It was the strongest existence in the Nine Realms aside from Asgard. Through their long history, they had mastered many mysterious spells that even Odin did not know.
Vanaheim's ruling god was Njord. Njord was the brother of Bor, Odin's father, and thus Odin's uncle. Yet ever since Odin had inherited the throne and begun his war to rule the Nine Realms, little remained of that close blood relation. All that remained was Uncle Njord being conquered by Odin.
The gods of Vanaheim had once joined forces with Surtur, the Fire Giant of Muspelheim, to resist Odin's war of conquest across the Nine Realms. Yet they had ultimately failed, suffering a crushing defeat. Even Surtur's Eternal Flame had been placed by Odin in his collection room as lighting.
Now, seeing someone fiercely battle Odin at the center of the Convergence, Vanaheim's ruling god Njord could not help changing expression.
No one understood Odin's strength more deeply than he did. After all, he had been conquered into humiliation and disgrace by his own nephew.
