Dense swarms of ant-like nanomachines poured out from behind Tony Stark, spreading over his skin. Before long, they had covered his entire body in a close-fitting layer.
Bright gold and red, like soft metal clinging tightly to his body. Tony Stark tilted forward, activating magnetic levitation. The steel doors lining the underground laboratory passage opened one after another, and clad in bright gold-and-red armor, Tony Stark shot through them and out of the underground passage into the open sky.
Boom—
The moment he reached the open sky, Tony Stark broke the sound barrier. A violent sonic boom cone formed below his waist, carving a white sonic trail across New York's skies as he flew toward Nevada.
"Ultron, bring up the footage over there." Tony Stark set the armor to semi-automatic, allowing JARVIS to fly toward the locked coordinates—90 kilometers northwest of downtown Las Vegas, approximately 37°14′06″N, 115°48′40″W. He switched to the feed and closely monitored the Dark Elf Mothership.
Inside the armor, Tony Stark saw Red Unit Red Hulk soldiers continuously piloting various fighter jets into battle against Dark Elf spacecraft that were clearly far more advanced than Earth's fighters.
The human fighter jets were merely tools for getting close to the Dark Elf Mothership. They were blown apart by the Dark Elf spacecraft one after another, their pilots transforming into Red Hulks amid black smoke and fireballs in the sky, desperately trying to approach the Dark Elf Mothership.
However, they had yet to break through the Dark Elf Mothership's defenses and were temporarily unable to get close.
The Dark Elf Mothership had attempted to take off and flee, but it was being completely held back. Massive ground-mounted Beam Cannons and equipment designed to disrupt spatial traversal positioning pinned the Dark Elf Mothership in place, leaving it nowhere to run.
