"Dad! Dad, where are you?!" Li Sui looked around in despair and worry. This forest was unfamiliar; every leaf was red. She and her father had never come to a place like this before. She had no idea where she was.
This was the first time she had truly left Li Huowang, and many of the tentacles on her body had snapped. Her body was torn open as well. She was in pain now, and she was terrified.
Instinct made her look at the blood-spitting youth pinned beneath her. She had seen this person before—the youth who had spoken to her before they set out.
At that moment, Li Sui had no time to care why he was here. After seeing that he was dead, she ate his internal organs and threaded his body through herself, using it to nurse her injured and weakened body.
With food replenishing her, Li Sui's body felt slightly better, but her predicament remained unresolved.
She raised her head and looked at the sky, only to find that the hole she had fallen through had already closed. Even if she wanted to go back, she could not. She no longer had Dragon Qi on her body; going back would be courting death.
After calling for a while without seeing anyone, Li Sui quietly encouraged herself. "It's okay. Dad is busy up there. Once he's done, he'll come down soon. I just need to wait here for him."
Li Sui's two eyeballs popped free from their sockets and were held high by tentacles as they gazed up at the sky. She watched for a full day and night, yet still saw no sign of Li Huowang.
No matter how innocent she was, she understood that something had to be wrong.
"Could it be..." Thinking of Li
