"What about everyone else?"
Oreki arrived at the Student Council, but only Hashimoto and Katsuragi were there.
Those two were also the only ones who spoke to him.
Oh, and there was Hayato Kito, who did not like talking and was rather introverted, as well as Kiriyama, the upperclassman who had already advanced to the third year.
Senior Kiriyama was quite busy, entering documents.
Katsuragi was much the same. Although he spoke to Oreki, his gaze never left the computer.
He was quite a diligent person.
Oreki looked around and found that several familiar faces were absent: Classmate Horikita, the great angel Ichinose, Classmate Hiyori, and the little angel Kikyou Kushida.
Karuizawa and Sato were absent as well.
"Shiina, Ichinose, and Horikita were called away to help wrap up the new student entrance ceremony. Things like collecting chairs and sorting out trash."
"The others had originally been helping us clean up, but after the president returned, they were assigned to patrol." That was Katsuragi's reply.
"Even Classmate Sakura was called out to patrol?" Oreki caught onto a subtle point.
"Yes. The president said she wanted everyone to participate."
So she said everyone, yet she kept the male members behind to work and sent all the girls away. That was indeed very Yanagi.
In other words, Classmate Sakayanagi had not called him here for something as simple as that.
"Ah... excuse me." Hashimoto suddenly checked his phone.
Then, before Oreki could react, he headed toward the Student Council President's office. Before long, he carried out the chair meant for visitors.
At the same time, he brought a message.
"Oreki, the president is calling you in."
Knock, knock!
Oreki knocked on the door of the Student Council President's private office.
"Is that Oreki? Come in."
A voice quickly came from inside.
