Inside Zhu Zhuqing's bedroom.
Zhu Zhuqing caught the scent of the food in Sister Hong's hands, and a fierce hunger washed over her. During the two days of travel through the Star Dou Great Forest, Zhu Zhuqing had yet to wake up, so Yang Ming could only feed her some Soul Beast milk. And for every spoonful he fed her, more than half spilled out. Of course she was hungry now.
Zhu Zhuqing exhausted all her strength trying to sit up from the bed, but she had lost too much blood before and had barely eaten over the past two days. She was far too weak now, unable even to break free from the weight of the blanket. Seeing that Zhu Zhuqing wanted to get up, Sister Hong stepped forward to help.
With Sister Hong's assistance, Zhu Zhuqing finally sat up. Seeing Zhu Zhuqing looking toward the tray, Sister Hong knew she was hungry. She set the tray on the bedside table. It held a bowl of porridge and several small dishes of vegetables, and she said with a smile.
"Miss Zhu, eat first!"
As she spoke, she picked up the bowl of porridge, preparing to feed her.
Zhu Zhuqing looked at the bowl of porridge glistening with oil before her. She did not fuss over it and obediently followed her survival instincts, eating it.
A mouthful of porridge went down her throat! Before long, Zhu Zhuqing felt a warm current rise within her body. She looked at the porridge in surprise and asked.
"What is this?"
Hearing Zhu Zhuqing's question, Sister Hong followed her gaze to the bowl in her hand and gestured toward it.
"Miss means this?"
"There is some Soul Beast meat and nourishing medicinal herbs in it."
Hearing Sister Hong's answer, Zhu Zhuqing shifted her gaze toward the door, and the vigilance in her eyes deepened. If Yang Ming had merely prepared an ordinary bowl of plain porridge and side dishes, Zhu Zhuqing would have found it perfectly normal and had no complaints. But this nourishing porridge made it even harder for her to tell whether the man outside was truly kind-hearted or had ulterior motives.
Sister Hong did not understand Zhu Zhuqing's look and continued feeding her porridge.
As Zhu Zhuqing ate while mulling over these thoughts, she suddenly caught a fragrant scent drifting in from outside.
Zhu Zhuqing had not felt much about it at first, but the more she smelled it, the more she felt that the scent outside was somewhat similar to the porridge in her bowl. So she asked Sister Hong.
"What is he eating?"
Sister Hong answered.
"Young Master Yun is having Nine Bend Carp Ginseng Soup and Deep Fried Golden Winged Eagle."
Zhu Zhuqing fell thoughtful. So that was how it was? Thinking of the two dishes Sister Hong had mentioned, then looking at the porridge before her, Zhu Zhuqing finally understood why the man outside had made such a bowl of porridge for her. His standard of living was simply high to begin with; her porridge was merely an extra.
After understanding this, Zhu Zhuqing drank her porridge with greater peace of mind. But why did her chest suddenly feel a little tight? Had it grown again? Zhu Zhuqing could not figure it out for the moment.
Zhu Zhuqing soon finished the porridge. After Sister Hong helped Zhu Zhuqing take care of a series of matters, she bade Yang Ming farewell. Seeing that Sister Hong worked carefully and patiently, Yang Ming was very satisfied. He directly paid her for the day. Yang Ming paid one Gold Soul Coin per day, settled daily. Sister Hong was overjoyed, thanked him repeatedly, and left the suite.
On the Douluo Continent, Gold Soul Coins still had considerable purchasing power. Although a few Gold Soul Coins meant nothing to Soul Masters from great clans like Yang Ming's—except for the Speed Clan—Yang Ming's dinner alone had cost a hundred Gold Soul Coins. But for ordinary people, one Gold Soul Coin was enough to cover a family's expenses for several months. Thus, the task Yang Ming had arranged for Sister Hong was no different from fortune falling from the heavens.
Of course, among the second generation of Soul Masters, Yang Ming was considered rather wealthy. The reason was naturally that he had a rich Grandfather, Yang Wudi! As a renowned pharmaceutical clan on the continent, the Breaking Clan had been hurt, had suffered pain, but had never been poor. Yang Wudi was also one of the continent's top pharmacists and Poison Masters, so making money came incredibly fast for him! Unlike those "talented" teachers at Shrek Academy, all above Soul Emperor level yet still so poor. They really were quite bizarre!
A quarter of an hour later, Yang Ming had finished his dinner as well. Just as he finished tidying everything up and was preparing to begin his meditation training for the day, Zhu Zhuqing's cool voice drifted out from the inner room.
"Are you resting?"
Hearing Zhu Zhuqing call for him, Yang Ming walked into her bedroom. There, he saw Zhu Zhuqing leaning against the headboard, staring absently at him with her large eyes.
Yang Ming had been sitting somewhere the moonlight did not reach earlier, so Zhu Zhuqing had not seen his face. Only when Yang Ming entered the room this time did Zhu Zhuqing finally see his appearance clearly.
He was a handsome young man dressed in a white brocade robe, with an elegant and gentle temperament. Long lashes, a straight nose, and a pair of eyes as dazzling as stars left Zhu Zhuqing staring at him in a daze.
Seeing Zhu Zhuqing momentarily stunned, Yang Ming smiled and spoke gently.
"What is it, Miss Zhu?"
"Did my appearance surprise you that much?"
Hearing Yang Ming's question, Zhu Zhuqing came back to her senses, her face flushing slightly. She felt that she had embarrassed herself just now. Zhu Zhuqing turned her head away, somewhat awkward, and a trace of gratitude entered her cool voice.
"Thank you~"
Although Zhu Zhuqing had not completely trusted Yang Ming, he had been helping her throughout this ordeal and had never shown any concrete improper intentions toward her. It was only right to thank him.
Zhu Zhuqing's voice was quiet, but Yang Ming heard it clearly. He smiled faintly and responded warmly.
"You're welcome!"
Seeing Zhu Zhuqing hesitate as if she wanted to speak but held herself back, Yang Ming continued.
"What is it?"
Hearing Yang Ming's question, Zhu Zhuqing's expression finally became resolute, and she asked again.
"Can you tell me what you meant earlier when you said Zhu Zhuyun let me leave?"
Yang Ming understood Zhu Zhuqing's urgency, but he did not intend to tell her now. He said to her.
"I can."
Before Zhu Zhuqing could feel happy, Yang Ming continued.
"But not now. A week from now, perhaps. Or."
"You can think about it yourself. You have certainly spent more time with your sister than I have."
"What I can see, you can see as well."
"The reason you have not noticed is merely that your old way of thinking has trapped you!"
Hearing Yang Ming say this, Zhu Zhuqing fell into deep thought. Yang Ming walked to Zhu Zhuqing's bedside, supported her, and helped her lie back down. Though Zhu Zhuqing was somewhat puzzled and stiffened at first, she did not resist. She merely looked at him with questioning eyes, as if asking, "What are you doing?" Yang Ming understood her gaze and explained.
"Your waist injury makes it inconvenient for you to sit for long. Lie down and think it over slowly!"
After saying that, he turned off the bedroom lights, and the moonlight reappeared. Just as Yang Ming was about to leave the bedroom, he heard Zhu Zhuqing speak again.
"My name is Zhu Zhuqing."
Hearing Zhu Zhuqing introduce herself, Yang Ming paused. He turned to Zhu Zhuqing and said.
"My name is Yang Ming."
After saying that, he walked out of the bedroom. Before closing the door, he added one last sentence.
"Good night!"
Bang~
Zhu Zhuqing turned her head to look at the moon outside the window and whispered.
"Yang Ming~?"
P.S. Shrek Academy will make its first appearance tomorrow.
