Background / History

Yang Wudi is Yun Ming’s grandfather and the former leader of the Breaking Clan. After his daughter and son-in-law are killed, he is left grieving while raising the infant Yun Ming. When Spirit Hall Soul Kings intrude upon his courtyard, his grief turns into killing intent and he confronts them with seven rings active. 1

He preserves the Breaking Clan’s inherited knowledge, particularly the Secrets of the Soul Breaking, a record of ancestral experimentation on the Soul Breaking Spear’s ideal development path. Though initially skeptical of Yun Ming’s proposed reforms to the clan’s attack-focused Soul Ring tradition, he recognizes their value and accepts the need for change. 5 6
