The Old Dragon King chuckled with satisfaction and said, "Spread the news. The next stage is a contest between the Demon Race and him. Our Dragon Race can then withdraw from this."
Ao Guang anxiously asked, "What if the Nine Dragon Carriage truly falls into the hands of the Demon Race?"
The Old Dragon King patted Ao Guang's shoulder and said, "Stolen goods are not something our Dragon Race will admit to. If it wasn't obtained from our Dragon Race, we'll just insist the carriage is fake. Besides, this young friend is not simple; the Demon Race won't have an easy time getting it."
Fake... fake? Ao Guang's mouth twitched twice. "Old man, do your parents know you're this wicked?"
"Your grandparents perished in a Calamity long ago."
The Old Dragon King said smugly, "And this isn't wickedness, it's wisdom. Kid, you're still far from becoming a Dragon King! Study hard."
Bai Jin, riding the Kui Ox, moved stealthily along the seabed, urging, "Faster! Faster!"
The Kui Ox happily exclaimed, "Martial Brother, you actually got hold of the Dragon Race's Nine Dragon Carriage? You're so amazing!"
Bai Jin let out a cold laugh. "That old fox, the Dragon King of the East Sea, intends to divert disaster. He gave me the Nine Dragon Carriage voluntarily. That old fellow definitely has ill intentions."
The Kui Ox grumbled, "I think he's quite nice!"
"Believe it or not, he's already informed the Demon Race that the Nine Dragon Carriage is in my possession."
"No way! He doesn't seem like that kind of person. Aren't you relatives?"
"Ao Guang was right earlier. The Old Dragon King is a sly old fox."
A divine sword of flames descended from the sky like a heavenly punishment. The East Sea instantly churned with colossal waves, and the sizzling water vapor evaporated, forming a dense fog that enveloped the sea's surface.
Bai Jin, riding the Kui Ox, was shaken from the seabed and shot out of the water like a cannonball. He stabilized his body in mid-air.
Above the rolling demonic clouds in the sky stood the Bifang Demon God, clad in armor, along with thousands of powerful demons.
Bifang extended a hand, and a divine sword burning with flames shot out from the seabed, tearing through the steam covering the sea and landing in Bifang's grasp.
The Bifang Demon God looked at the Kui Ox beneath Bai Jin, a flash of joy in his eyes. It was a Primordial Beast, the Kui Ox. With proper cultivation, the Demon Court would have another Demon God in no time. As for Bai Jin, he was completely disregarded – just a Golden Immortal-level White Crane demon, with ordinary potential and limited achievements.
The Bifang Demon God sternly shouted, "What impudent thief are you? Daring to steal what the Demon Court desires!"
Bai Jin whispered, "See? Didn't I tell you?"
The Kui Ox nodded repeatedly. Martial Brother is wise.
The Bifang Demon God coldly bellowed, "I'm asking you a question, didn't you hear me?"
Bai Jin looked up with a simple smile. "We are cultivators who live in seclusion in the East Sea, planning to visit relatives on the Great Desolation Continent."
"Nonsense! Hand over the Nine Dragon Carriage and surrender to the Demon Court, and we may spare your lives," Bifang reprimanded.
Bai Jin put on an innocent expression. "I truly don't know anything about a Nine Dragon Carriage. We are just two ordinary little cultivators."
The Kui Ox also nodded repeatedly. If we can't win, we have to back down.
"The Dragon King of the East Sea has told us everything. You still dare to quibble?"
Bifang sneered. "Qu Yang, go capture them."
"Yes!" An armored wolf demon shouted, "Follow me!" Dozens of demons, following the wolf demon, let out excited howls as they charged towards Bai Jin and the Kui Ox.
Bifang watched with cold detachment, a sense of anticipation rising within him, eager to see the Kui Ox's performance.
The Kui Ox became flustered. "Martial Brother, what do we do now?"
Bai Jin's simple, honest smile vanished. He sighed helplessly. "I really don't want to fight!"
A cold light flashed in his hand, and an Immortal Sword appeared. The hilt of the sword bore two Rune Scripts: Qingyun.
Bai Jin gripped the Qingyun Sword and floated into the air, gazing at the dozens of demons pouncing towards him. He recalled a sword trajectory in his mind and drew his long sword through the air, executing the "Heaven-Opening Sword."
A brilliant beam of light swept across, and with a thwack, thwack, thwack, blood splattered. Dozens of demons and monsters instantly fell, lifeless, their flesh and blood scattering. Even the wolf demon Qu Yang perished without a survivor.
The demons in the clouds were all aghast, instinctively taking a step back. Qu Yang was a great demon at the late Golden Immortal stage, yet he couldn't withstand even a single move.
Bai Jin's body swayed, and his magical power was instantly depleted. He floated down and sat back on the Kui Ox.
The Kui Ox's eyes also held shock. It roared inwardly, "Martial Brother is awesome! (Voice crack)"
Bai Jin tightened his grip on the Immortal Sword, a hint of regret in his heart. He could only unleash one strike with that move. If he could unleash them continuously, he might even be able to contend with a Grand Unity Golden Immortal.
Bifang's pupils contracted sharply, his eyes filled with terror. This sword technique made him faintly sense a trace of danger.
Bai Jin looked up at the Bifang Demon God, smoothed his hair, and said, "Alas, since the Dragon King of the East Sea has confessed, I have nothing left to hide. The Nine Dragon Agarwood Carriage is indeed in my possession, but I cannot give it to you. I intend to present this Nine Dragon Agarwood Carriage to my Martial Uncle. I would appreciate it if the Demon God could facilitate this.
Oh, right, this humble Taoist hails from Mount Kunlun."
A flicker of surprise crossed the Bifang Demon God's eyes. The Three Pure Ones of Mount Kunlun?! Then, his eyes filled with greed. The Nine Dragon Carriage, the Innate Spiritual Treasure Immortal Sword, and that sword technique – as long as he did it cleanly, it would all be his. What of the Three Pure Ones? Could they ascend to the heavens for a mere disciple?!
Bifang said in a deep voice, "Since you are a disciple of the Three Pure Ones, I will grant you this favor."
Bai Jin smiled and bowed. "Thank you, Demon God."
As Bai Jin lowered his head and bent his waist, a cold glint flashed in Bifang's eyes. He suddenly reached out and grabbed towards Bai Jin with immense force. The surging Bifang Divine Fire coalesced into a thousand-meter-sized flaming bird claw, reaching for Bai Jin and the Kui Ox. Before the claw even descended, it had locked down the surrounding space, making escape impossible.
Bai Jin casually reached up and spun his hand above his head. A Taiji Diagram materialized overhead. The flaming bird claw landed on the Taiji Diagram and instantly disintegrated into flames, surging into the Yang eye of the Taiji Diagram like countless rivers flowing into the sea.
Bai Jin looked up and said, "Sneak attacks are unbecoming of a Demon God's status. What is offered should be returned. You take this move from this humble Taoist."
His hand gesture reversed. From the Yin eye of the Taiji Diagram, a divine sword of flames instantly shot out, flying towards Bifang with the speed of flowing light.
With a loud boom, a sea of flames spread across the sky.
"Caw~" A Bifang divine bird, bathed in flames, burst from the sea of fire. Covered in blood, it fled towards the sky in panic.
Bai Jin lowered his hand, and the Taiji Diagram faded and disappeared.
The Kui Ox asked excitedly, "Martial Uncle, what kind of Taoist magic is that? It's too powerful! Can you teach me?"
Bai Jin said, "This is called the Heaven and Earth Great Shift. You can ask Master to teach you later; I can't teach you."
The Kui Ox nodded repeatedly, silently memorizing the name in his heart: Heaven and Earth Great Shift.
Bai Jin breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, he had prepared the Taiji Diagram from his First Martial Uncle. The Great Desolation truly harbored treacherous hearts; everyone was an old schemer. A Grand Unity Golden Immortal used his full power against a mere Golden Immortal. It was true that a pure little white rabbit like himself should hide under the wings of the big shots and watch the changing winds and clouds with a smile.
Bai Jin patted the Kui Ox's neck and said, "Let's go! We're returning to Kunlun."
The Kui Ox soared into the thunderclouds and flew towards the Great Desolation Continent.
On the surging sea, two figures quietly rose. They were the Old Dragon King of the East Sea and Ao Guang.
The Old Dragon King of the East Sea sighed, "See, didn't I tell you! He's not easy to deal with. His background is probably astonishing!"
Ao Guang casually agreed, "Right! Right!" His eyes gleamed as he flew forward. So many of the Demon Race had died, including several great demons at the Golden Immortal level. This was all resources! Looting corpses was a must.
