"Quick, move faster! We're about to cross the border!" Yakov said in a low voice.

Their group could not help quickening their pace. Smiles appeared on many faces, as though they could already see a happy life beckoning to them.

"Stop! Stop immediately! You traitors who have betrayed the revolution! Otherwise, we'll open fire!" A gruff voice suddenly rang out.

At the same time came the barking of wolfhounds. There was no doubt that the Border Guards had discovered this group of refugees.

Upon hearing that voice, every one of them turned pale. They all knew that if they were caught by these Border Guards, they would be walking into a dead end. Yet some of the refugees were terrified and involuntarily stopped.
