"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
The German fleet's Battleship König and the Island Nation fleet's Battleship Kii became the primary targets of both sides' attacks, with every shell screaming toward them. Under such circumstances, even the most powerful battleships could not hold out. At this point, it was a contest of luck, a gamble on one's fortune.
"Boom! Boom!"
Two 380mm Shells struck Battleship Kii in succession. One hit amidships, destroying Main Turret No. 3 and reducing Battleship Kii's firepower by another fifth.
The other shell struck Battleship Kii's side. Its mere 292mm belt armor was simply unable to withstand a 380mm Shell and was easily pierced. Worse still, the impact point was right near the waterline, blasting open a huge hole. Seawater began pouring into the warship.
"General, Main Turret No. 3 has been destroyed. In addition, a hole has been blasted in the port side. Damage control is underway!" Captain Fukudome Shigeru reported.
Lieutenant General Yoshida Zengo's expression immediately turned even uglier. Together with Main Turret No. 5, which had been lost earlier, they had now lost two main turrets. The warship's firepower had fallen by a full forty percent.
"Damn it! Are we really going to lose this battle? Order damage control to plug the breach. As long as we have not been sunk, we must hold on!" Lieutenant General Yoshida Zengo ordered.
They now had only four battleships facing the German fleet's eight, leaving them at an absolute numerical disadvantage from the outset. If Battleship Kii were sunk as well, it would become three against eight. At that point, they would be even less capable of defeating the German fleet.
"Yes, General. However, you should evacuate Battleship Kii first and withdraw to Suruga or Ōmi to command the battle. It is too dangerous to remain aboard Kii!" Captain
