One by one, the angel squads lost communication, but it was not because their life signs had vanished. This was the conclusion Ruo Ning reached after casually catching a Little Angel who had drifted in front of her and examining her.
The Little Angel was still alive. For some reason, she had simply fallen into a deep coma.
Because they were in space and communications could not be reestablished, Ruo Ning could only reach out and pat the girl's cheeks twice, hoping to wake the Little Angel that way. But it was completely useless.
At the sight, Ruo Ning's expression darkened. She raised her head and swept her gaze across the surrounding battlefield. After looking around, her already grim face was instantly covered by another layer of gloom.
She discovered that it was not only the angels who had fallen unconscious from some unknown attack. The Yiren Civilization's soldiers and officers, even the flagship airships they piloted—none had been spared. Those that should have fallen unconscious had done so, while those that should have crashed had crashed.
She was the only one on the entire battlefield who had not been affected. No! Those ugly bastards had not been affected either!
Such a bizarre scene would have left ordinary people terrified or at least thrown into a panic. Yet Ruo Ning did neither. No matter what she encountered, she could remain calm.
"Heavenly Blade Battleship, activate wormhole transport. Jump one Cosmic Unit away and stand by!"
The angels left behind on the Heavenly Blade Battleship had not escaped either, so Ruo Ning could only send her command directly to the battleship's main control terminal.
Although the angels were all still alive, their situation was far from optimistic.
Earlier, in order to divide the battlefield, the angel assault squads had spread out
