"Ugh~"
"Ugh~~"
Hua Zhen stretched his neck way out, snot and tears mixed with something disgusting as he vomited nonstop, like someone had turned on a faucet. Everyone around him was left utterly speechless.
Gus hurried over, crouched beside him, and gently rubbed his back, hoping it would make him feel a little better. "Your Highness... how... how are you feeling?" This was so embarrassing~
"Urgh..." Hua Zhen puffed out his cheeks, dry-heaved for a while, then waved him off. "Huff, huff... damn... that felt amazing..."
"..." Gus grimaced helplessly. "Your Highness, I already told you. You haven't upgraded the genes in your body yet, so you can't withstand wormgate transport, but..."
"How was I supposed to know it'd be this bad? If you'd explained it clearly, would I not have worn that thing?" Hua Zhen pointed at the dog-collar-like device in Gus's hand, baring his teeth as he spoke.
Gus inwardly cried injustice. I explained it perfectly clearly, okay? You just wouldn't listen~
The people around them were all utterly bewildered by the sight.
This was how it happened...
As mentioned earlier, the Yuan Gate was actually a large-scale transportation device that used wormhole technology!
A wormhole, as its name implied, could be regarded as a narrow spacetime passage connecting two distant locations. More precisely, it was a high-speed spatial channel, not some kind of space-folding technology.
The spatial distribution inside a wormhole was irregular. If someone wanted to travel from one end to the other, they first had to be analyzed and calculated by the transport device's internal computing system. Then, the atoms in their body would be dispersed and fed individually into the wormhole. Finally, with the help of the computing system, they would be reassembled at the exit.
The three steps sounded complicated, but the transport itself was completed in an instant.
But!! Never underestimate that instant. Having the atoms in one's body dispersed and reassembled was enough to make one's scalp tingle just hearing about it, let alone experiencing it firsthand. An ordinary person's body simply could not endure it.
The collar in Gus's hand was a product developed by the Tiangong Research Council. Its purpose was to protect the dispersed atoms and greatly mitigate the adverse effects caused by transport.
Because Hua Zhen did not know any of this, and because he had been distracted by the mind-blowing sights in Tiangong at the time, he had not listened closely to Gus's warning. So, this dramatic scene was only to be expected.
After blowing his nose for a while, he suddenly sensed that something was off. Looking at Gus and the angel guards behind him, he frowned. "Wait, you guys weren't wearing collars either. Why are you all acting like nothing happened? Why am I the only one throwing up!!"
"...Your Highness, our Angel Gene has already been upgraded. The Gene System in our bodies automatically generates a Protection Program..."
"Damn it, that's way too unfair!" Thinking about how no one else had suffered alongside him, Hua Zhen felt extremely unbalanced.
Gus grimaced, then somehow produced a bottle of water and handed it to Hua Zhen. He then pointed toward the people still gathered around them. "Um... Your Highness, look around..."
Following the direction of his finger, Hua Zhen wanted to start cursing.
Hua Zhen had long prepared himself for drawing attention at Old Angel King Hua Que's birthday celebration. After all, he was the Third Prince, so before coming here, he had decided that under this uncontrollable premise, he should simply behave properly and maintain his predecessor's usual habits.
But he had never imagined that wormgate transport would knock him right back to square one. The moment he entered, he started vomiting wildly, and so many people had seen it. Wasn't this just screwing him over!!
After shooting Gus a glare, Hua Zhen took the bottle from him. Squatting down, he rinsed the mess from his mouth, then scrubbed his face hard. Huff~ But since it's already happened, there's no use dwelling on it. I should prepare for the challenges ahead!
After thinking it through, Hua Zhen slowly rose to his feet. Strangely enough, in that single instant, his entire temperament underwent an earth-shaking change. His earlier irritability vanished. His back was straight, his gaze steady, and every inch of him exuded nobility.
"Gus, let's go~" Hua Zhen's voice was light and carried a trace of innocence. He had his otherworldly bearing down perfectly, as if the person who had just been sticking out his butt and stretching his neck had not been him at all.
"?! Your Highness... could it be... could it be that your memories have returned?" Seeing Hua Zhen's abrupt transformation, Gus's eyes nearly popped out. He knew that expression far too well.
"Returned my ass! Hurry up and lead the way..." Hua Zhen lowered his voice and "roared" at Gus.
"..."
All right, he had overthought it. Still, His Highness was truly impressive. He had almost fooled even him~ Gus could not help admiring his acting skills.
Acting skills? How could Hua Zhen possibly have something like that? The reason he could put on such an explosive performance was because he had put in tremendous effort. He had carefully watched every subtle change in his predecessor's expressions while speaking, then copied and imitated them bit by bit in front of a mirror. Only he knew how difficult that process had been. Ah~ It was all tears if he spoke of it.
Gus caught up to Hua Zhen and said softly, "Your Highness, we only need to wait here for a moment. Someone from the Construction Department will arrive soon to guide you!"
Sure enough, just as he finished speaking, a Male Angel ran out from the distant crowd. He had light gray hair and wore a white toga. After arriving before Hua Zhen, he placed a hand over his chest in salute, then launched into a string of apologies, claiming that he had neglected His Highness and so on.
Hua Zhen had just emptied his stomach and was starving. All he wanted now was something to eat, and he could not be bothered with this nonsense. He waved a hand, about to speak, when a buzzing sound suddenly came from behind him. Confused, he turned around and happened to see a small aircraft emerge from the Yuan Gate.
"The Fourth Prince has arrived!" Gus said quietly.
Upon hearing that it was the legendary Hua Xiong, Hua Zhen's lips curved into an amused smile. He was no longer in a hurry to leave. Standing where he was, he prepared to get a good look at the kid. Honestly, he was quite looking forward to seeing the unfortunate fellow whose name Old Stick had apparently come up with after getting smacked on the head.
After the aircraft landed at the edge of the square, its hatch opened as well. Before long, a chubby boy stepped out, a dog collar around his neck, looking like that underbit bulldog from Tom and Jerry.
The same luxurious robes looked exceptionally bloated on him. Who knew how much hair gel had been smeared into his golden hair, which had been combed into a flamboyant side part. The fat on his cheeks jiggled with every step down the stairs.
His tiny eyes, already narrowed into slits, swept across the people in the square. With his nostrils pointed toward the sky, he strutted about as if everyone there was beneath him.
Then his gaze shifted and met Hua Zhen's. He froze for a moment before snorting angrily. He jumped down the last two steps and ran toward Hua Zhen, gritting his teeth as he shouted, "Hua Zhen, who told you to arrive before this prince..."
"Your Highness, watch out!!"
Seeing this, Hua Xiong's personal guard initially showed a trace of helplessness. Just as he was about to move, however, he suddenly noticed an unidentified puddle in front of his prince. Without time to think, he immediately shouted a warning.
"Huh?"
"Whoosh~~~"
When someone was unlucky, even a fart could hit the back of his own heel. Hua Xiong was a prime example. He had been so focused on running toward Hua Zhen that he failed to notice the puddle of vomit between them. His foot suddenly slipped, and he first fell flat on his face before sliding forward in that head-first position.
"Scrrrape~~~"
Hua Zhen lowered his head to look at the chubby boy slowly coming to a stop at his feet, sprawled flat on the ground. Then he raised his head and visually estimated the distance he had traveled. Umm... about four or five meters!
Hua Zhen stood dumbfounded for quite a while before finally blurting out, "He really is an unlucky bastard. Holy... holy shit, how did you manage to slide that far?"
The atmosphere in the square became even stranger. The crowd had yet to recover from Hua Zhen's wild vomiting performance when Hua Xiong gave them an entrance of his own unique style.
Tsk, this... this generation of princes...
