Chapter 7: A Thorough Release, A Joyful Vent!
Lu Chen moved with incredible speed.
After leaving the beggar's hovel, he headed directly towards the Wu Ji Porcelain Shop, a location he remembered clearly.
He recalled the shop being on a wide street in the east of the city.
The proprietor's name was Wu Tianli.
He was also known as Wu the Skinflint.
A notoriously greedy merchant, he exploited the dozen or so apprentices in his shop, leaving almost none of them unburdened.
To maintain his absolute authority, Wu the Skinflint also hired four or five thugs.
He acted like a tyrant in the shop, verbally and physically abusing the apprentices every day.
The original owner of this body had worked there for three years. Not only did he not receive a single coin in wages, but after accidentally breaking a piece of porcelain, he ended up owing the shop thirty taels. He was only freed from his debt after having over a dozen bones broken.
Lu Chen felt that it would be a waste of his system if he didn't settle the score with such a scoundrel.
At this very moment.
Wu Ji Porcelain Shop.
More than ten apprentices, their faces sallow and their spirits low, were busy at work in the shop.
Some were carrying heavy items, others were shaping clay, and still others were wiping dust off porcelain.
The proprietor, Wu Tianli, seemed to be absent.
Only one thug, a burly man with a fierce expression, sat on a stool, watching the apprentices. "All of you, pay closer attention! Don't be so listless! I'm talking to you! If you break one piece, selling you wouldn't even cover the cost! Damn it, have you forgotten what happened to Lu Chen this morning? What? You want to end up like him? If you break one, I'll beat you to death!"
He pointed at an apprentice and began to curse him out.
The apprentices became even more cautious, responding only with meek murmurs.
They had all witnessed what happened that morning.
Lu Chen had accidentally knocked over a piece of porcelain, and the shopkeeper had ordered him tied up and beaten within an inch of his life.
The shopkeeper treated them worse than animals.
"Damn it, you bunch of spineless cowards! You get restless if I don't put you in your place for a day."
The thug spat, "If any of you ever cross me, I'll make sure you regret it!"
His name was Wu San, Wu Tianli's nephew. This morning, he had been the one who beat Lu Chen the most severely.
He actually felt a sense of nostalgia as he recalled the sound of bones breaking.
It felt so good to beat someone.
He thought to himself, subconsciously rubbing his palms as if reminiscing about the sensation.
Just then.
Suddenly, a figure rushed in from outside. He casually grabbed a stool from by the door and hurled it violently at the exquisite porcelain that had just been fired, roaring, "Old dog Wu, give me back my hard-earned money!"
Crash!
Bang!
The sound was deafening, and shards flew everywhere.
Seven or eight exquisite pieces of porcelain were smashed on the spot.
The shop's employees were all startled, then filled with fear and disbelief as they watched the scene unfold.
"It's Lu Chen!"
"Heavens, Lu Chen, what are you doing?!"
"Lu Chen, run! Hurry and run!"
Everyone screamed.
Although they couldn't understand how Lu Chen, who had been close to death that morning, was now so lively in the afternoon, they knew that the shopkeeper Wu would never let him get away with smashing so much porcelain.
He would surely beat him to death this time!
Wu San, in particular,'s eyes widened, his pupils almost bursting. He couldn't believe his own eyes.
What was he seeing?
Lu Chen, whom he had beaten half to death this morning, had rushed back in the afternoon and smashed so much porcelain right in front of him?
This was outrageous! "Fuck your mother!"
Wu San roared, and his burly body sprang from his seat like a berserk beast. With a stomp of his foot, he lunged at Lu Chen without hesitation.
Beast!
This is a beast!
If I don't beat him to death, then my surname isn't Wu.
So many exquisite porcelain pieces, how much must they be worth!
However, seeing Wu San lunge at him, Lu Chen felt no fear. Instead, his eyes turned cold, and his body suddenly lunged forward, throwing a punch fiercely towards Wu San.
Bang!
"Ah!"
Wu San let out an incredibly piercing scream. One of his palms was actually blown apart by Lu Chen's punch, bone fragments and rotten flesh, blood flying everywhere. The intense pain almost made him pass out.
He was terrified, clutching his palm, simply unable to believe it.
However, before he could react, Lu Chen followed up with a casual grab, pulling Wu San's body fiercely close. His fingers, like steel, directly poked towards Wu San's eyes.
Squelch!
Wu San screamed piercingly again.
"My eyes..."
"Wu San, this morning you broke more than ten of my bones and repeatedly said you would kill me. Now I'm breaking all your bones and blinding your eyes. This is called an eye for an eye!"
Lu Chen was incredibly decisive. Grabbing Wu San's body, as if treating him like a scarecrow, he began smashing him violently into the remaining porcelain pieces.
Crack! Crack! Crack...
A series of loud noises could be heard. Rows and rows of porcelain were being smashed to pieces by Wu San.
Wu San's screams were incessant and incredibly piercing.
All the apprentices were terrified, their faces pale, shivering uncontrollably, all of them frozen in fear.
How could this happen?
How could Lu Chen be like a completely different person?
How could he have beaten Wu San like this?
This felt like a dream...
In the backyard.
The shopkeeper, Wu Tianli, with a fawning smile, was accompanying a handsome young man in a yellow robe, acting subserviently, as if the young man were his own father.
In fact, the young man was almost like his father.
Because the other party's status was incredibly noble. He was the son of Zhao Hu, the owner of the Rising Sun Martial Hall in Panshi City, Zhao Yuesheng.
"Young Master Zhao, this piece of porcelain is the best in our shop. Please look at the pattern, the texture, and the luster, like beautiful jade..."
"Heh, it's not bad."
The young man in the yellow robe smiled, examining a teacup in his hand.
The porcelain teacup was fired to be like white jade, crystal clear, reflecting light.
It was considered a high-quality piece among porcelain.
However, Zhao Guang's attention was not on the teacup, but on a woman before him, about sixteen years old, wearing a goose-yellow dress, with a hint of shyness on her face.
"This young lady..."
"Young Master Zhao, her name is Yue'e. She is my daughter. To be frank, she has admired you for a long time. I've heard you are a martial arts genius..." Wu Tianli smiled, then gestured to the woman, saying, "Yue'e, quickly greet Young Master Zhao."
"Greetings, Young Master Zhao."
The woman in the goose-yellow dress shyly curtsied.
"She's truly lovely."
Zhao Guang's eyes lit up.
"You are too kind, Young Master Zhao."
Wu Tianli's face was all smiles.
He had long heard that this Young Master Zhao was very fond of women.
Seeing him today, it was indeed true.
If he could latch onto Young Master Zhao, Then from now on, he would be able to do whatever he pleased in Panshi City.
"Young Master Zhao, I have a few other matters to attend to. Perhaps... you and my daughter could chat privately?" Wu Tianli said with a smile.
"Oh? Then go ahead and take care of your business."
Zhao Guang smiled.
"Yes, yes."
Wu Tianli nodded repeatedly, secretly delighted.
Yue'e, oh Yue'e, whether our family can achieve great success from now on all depends on you.
Just as he withdrew from this place and walked outside, he suddenly heard the sound of porcelain shattering, crack, crack, from the front hall area. Interspersed with this were bursts of shrill screams, like pigs being slaughtered. He was startled and quickly called out to several of his thugs, rushing over swiftly.
Could it be that group of apprentices broke more porcelain again?
This is courting death!
If I don't beat a few of them to death, they'll think I'm easy to bully. As he rushed to the front hall in a furious rage, he was almost scared unconscious by the scene before him.
All the porcelain in the hall, without exception, had exploded into pieces.
Shards were piled all over the floor.
His nephew, Wu San, had been beaten to a bloody pulp, like a dead dog, and was being swung around in the other's hand.
Wu Tianli's eyes almost burst from rage. He was practically going mad, shouting hysterically, "Lu Chen, it's you! You little bastard, how dare you smash my shop! Kill him, quickly kill him!!"
He was so angry he was jumping up and down on the spot.
Four or five burly thugs beside him roared and all lunged forward.
Damn it!
This is outrageous!
This little bastard was beaten half to death this morning.
And now he's come to smash the shop in the afternoon? If we don't skin him alive, we thugs are just eating rice.
