Background / History

Natsu died 400 years before the present era. His biological brother, Zeref Dragneel, used his corpse in forbidden research to revive him as Etherias Natsu Dragneel—END, the strongest demon Zeref created and the only being intended to kill him. 357

He was taken in by the Fire Dragon King Igneel, who taught him Fire Dragon Slayer Magic. Natsu later lost his memories, while his Demon Power was sealed within him. 357

On July 7, X777, Igneel and the other Dragon Kings sent Natsu and four other Dragon Slayers 400 years into the future through the Moon Eclipse Gate. The dragons remained within the Dragon Slayers' bodies to create an antidote against dragonization. 301

By the time he joins Fairy Tail, Natsu is searching for Igneel and follows any possible lead on a Fire Dragon. 25 He eventually learns that Igneel had been inside him all along, and that the Dragon Kings had acted to prepare their children for the future conflict with Acnologia. 301
