The next two nights were far from peaceful.

Goblins were ugly enough already, but Red Caps were like uglified goblins. They knew how to wear crude clothes, were vicious by nature, bloodthirsty, and skilled at ambushes.

They wore something like leather caps over their heads, often dyeing them red with the blood of creatures they had killed. That was where their name came from.

Hundreds of years ago, they often lurked amid the ruins of battlefields, killing wounded soldiers. Or they hid in the shadows and ambushed careless lone travelers.
