Background / History

Anlìyà grew up in Fruit Basket Village as the adopted daughter of village chief Robert. When she was six, Robert injured his head while rescuing her after she became stranded high in the fruit forest; his recurring headaches date from that accident. Despite her lowly birth, she considers being Robert's daughter the greatest honor of her life. 8 28

She first encountered Xian after his arrival in the village. Although they initially could not communicate, she patiently taught him the local language and helped him learn about Fruit Basket Village, Black Wolf Territory, and the Sossia Kingdom. 3 4

When Fruit Basket Village faced ruin because its Red Fruit harvest could not be sold in time to pay the Agricultural Tax, Anlìyà sought Xian's help. After he initially refused, she resolved not to abandon the villagers and later begged him to save them, offering lifelong service in exchange. 7 8 9

During Mills' attempt to claim her as a slave, Anlìyà was terrified but regained her composure after Xian reassured her. Xian ultimately stepped in to protect both her and Berg. 16

After the village crisis, Anlìyà left Fruit Basket Village alongside Xian and Berg. She became Xian's attendant and later his maid at Black Wolf Castle and Red Fox Castle, gradually developing her cooking into a Profession Blessing. 26 29 43 173

Anlìyà is gentle, patient, and deeply considerate. She cared for Xian from their first meeting, teaching him the local language, preparing food, and helping him navigate village life despite his unfamiliarity with the world. 4 6

She is also resolute when others are endangered. The village's potential enslavement distressed her deeply, and she was prepared to make severe personal sacrifices to protect its people. When confronting Viscount Hughes, she calmly barred his Black Abyss Wolf from entering the village, despite the danger it posed. 8 9 26

Her affection for Xian is sincere and increasingly open. She comforts him when he is anxious or exhausted, supports his studies and work, and worries that her status as a commoner may eventually separate them. 21 55 113 164
