As Laughing Clown Holding the Ship Lantern spoke those words, a conjecture arose in Tang Qi's mind.
The reasoning was far from sufficient, but he felt it was most likely correct.
"Merciless Sage, who threw the Second Boundless into chaos and gave the gods of that world endless headaches—perhaps he... was a Failed Sage Candidate."
Tang Qi's thought had almost no evidence to support it.
Nor did Tang Qi hide it. He directly spoke the four words "Merciless Sage" to the clown.
The clown's reply was:
"Respected Sage Candidate, within the bounds permitted by the rules, I will answer all your questions. This is my mission."
"However, I cannot provide you with any information regarding other 'Sages,' 'Sage Candidates,' or 'Failed Sage Candidates.' This is not some strange rule established by a Secret Society. I simply do not know."
"In truth, I do not know who you are either."
"From my perspective, your form looks like this..."
As he spoke, the clown reached out and swept his hand across the ripples.
Amid surging radiance, a rather bizarre and abstract image appeared before Tang Qi.
To put it simply, the entire screen was pixelated.
Tang Qi suddenly understood the clown a little. If he had been forced to keep seeing things from that perspective, he would have laughed uncontrollably too, his mouth stretched all the way to his ears.
Having confirmed certain rules, Tang Qi began asking questions one after another.
Having finally caught an "informed person," Tang Qi felt he needed to make the most of this opportunity.
Some of those questions were important, while others were not particularly so.
"Is every Ship of Fools different?"
"Yes. There are no identical Sages in the world, and naturally, no identical Ships of Fools."
"How does a candidate become an official 'Sage'?"
