Nature and Structure
The Boundless Mystery is a transcendent, effectively limitless expanse containing worlds, cosmic dimensions, monsters, Divine Kingdoms, Foreign Realms, and even other universes. It has no meaningful edge and cannot be fully categorized as a conventional world. Even Deities lack the authority to explain it completely 538 560.
- Powerful entities may establish and control territories within it, including Divine Kingdoms and special realms 538.
- Its uncharted regions are dangerous: without coordinates and defensive measures, even Legendary Transcendentalists can become lost or attract Wandering Monsters 560.
- It is inhabited by the Myriad Spirits, Divine Entities that stand as its ruling class, though numerous paths to godhood exist for lesser beings 907.
- Origin Star is an origin point within the Boundless Mystery rather than its absolute center. The greater world continues to operate regardless of Origin Star’s state or the Myriad Spirits’ awakening 854.
- The returning Spiritual Tide spreads from its depths, awakening dormant worlds and Myriad Spirits 608.
Connection to Origin Star
At the end of the Dark Age, a mysterious meteor passed over Origin Star. Foreign Realm passages closed, invading races vanished or died, and humanity began to forget Transcendental history 745. Origin Star was later reintegrated into the Boundless Mystery and its endless Spiritual Tide cycle 854.
Origin Star has never been ruled by a Deity, including a Master-level one 658.
Related Realms and Phenomena
Second Boundless
The Second Boundless is believed by the Sages and Prophets to be a projection or “shadow” of the Boundless Mystery in stranger worlds. It contains analogous races, civilizations, universes, and Divine Entities, but has diverged increasingly over time 1152 1153.
The two worlds continually collide. Their possible outcomes include merger, mutual shattering, or simultaneous disappearance; the latter is considered the most likely outcome 1152.
Non-Existence
Non-Existence is a phenomenon formed from worlds, civilizations, races, and individuals erased during collisions between the Boundless Mystery and the Second Boundless. Its victims leave no historical, memorial, or cognitive trace of having existed 1151 1152.
- It is neither an entity, a rule, nor a creation, and cannot be affected by ordinary power—including Supreme Divinity 1152.
- Contact risks contamination and assimilation into Non-Existence 1152.
- The Mother Goddess spent several epochs guarding against it, abandoning her own path to Supreme Divinity in the process 1150 1153.
Darkest Universe
The Darkest Universe is the realm of the Origin Divine Race. During the Darkest Night, the Origin Divine Race attempted to merge it into the Boundless Mystery and impose eternal darkness as a means of preventing Annihilation Day 1155 1157.
