Inside the Mechanical Sphere, an emotionless voice began the countdown.

The agents who had gradually subdued the frenzied citizens, along with Flora's Followers raging helplessly, automatically envisioned what would happen next: Flora, contained within the Mechanical Sphere, would be exiled to that death planet.

Although aside from Chris, the other agents likely had no idea what the so-called Star of Exile actually was.

That did not stop them from thinking that this huge problem seemed to have been solved.

The thought had barely arisen when the second count had yet to sound.

A sudden change occurred.

Hiss! Hiss! Hiss!

Amid blasts of scorching steam, tiny cracks appeared across the Mechanical Sphere's surface. Viscous crimson threads like spider silk burrowed out, spreading into a massive web without warning and wrapping around the equally immobilized Chris Butterfield.

With a sharp snap, the sticky, tough Blood Spider Silk tightened, while the Mechanical Sphere instantly expanded several times over. The next moment, Chris Butterfield's eyes widened as his limbs and torso were tightly bound directly to the sphere.

The sight was even more ridiculous than Flora with her middle tooth smashed out earlier.

But no one could laugh at that moment.

Because as Chris was tied to the sphere, the Mechanical Sphere that had been counting down to open the Exile Passage began to resemble a deflating balloon. Scorching steam sprayed out as the sphere bounced across the basketball court.

The cold countdown immediately turned into Chris's startled cries and intermittent danger alerts:

"Exile... program interrupted!"

"Restarting!"

"Energy accumulation restarting. The program will restart in ten seconds."

"This extreme Life Form is releasing peak pollution. Radiation overload imminent. Activate self-destruct sequence?"

"Shut up, you piece of junk."

Bang! Bang! Bang!

"Quick, someone help me press the back of my neck... something terrible
