Nature

The Mystic Side encompasses the hidden world of Transcendentalists, supernatural creatures, Mystical Items, occult knowledge, and abnormal events that exists alongside ordinary society. During its century-long dormancy, supernatural power did not disappear entirely; faint remnants remained and later became the foundation for its revival. 42 46

It is closely linked to the Mystery, an umbrella term for unknowable sources of Transcendental Power—including Deities, foreign realms, other universes, and indescribable existences. Professionals advance by entering a Mystery associated with their path and obtaining corresponding Transcendental Power. 143 355

History

Dormancy

The Mystic Side was dormant or concealed for roughly a century after the “Mysterious Meteor.” Although supernatural power had become extremely weak, practitioners and isolated communities continued preserving occult materials, beliefs, and traditions outside major cities. 42 73

The Federation’s public largely embraced a scientific lifestyle during this period, while supernatural phenomena and the existence of the Mystic Side were denied, diminished, or covered up by authorities and established organizations. 73 658

Return of the Spiritual Tide

The return of the Spiritual Tide restored supernatural power and began reshaping the world’s order. Old witchcraft lineages recovered their abilities, dormant bloodlines awakened, Mystical Items regained their properties, and Abnormalities began emerging from mystic realms. 4 46 336

Tang Qi identifies this resurgence as an immediate danger rather than a cause for celebration: the growing number of supernatural beings and Abnormalities makes the world increasingly perilous and difficult to control. 18 46

Recovery and escalation

As the Spiritual Tide intensified, the Mystic Side entered a period of explosive growth. Ancient Evil God organizations, foreign-realm phenomena, containment failures, supernatural crimes, and large-scale conflicts began appearing across Origin Star. 548 554

By this period, the Mystic Side could no longer be reliably hidden. Major battles and manifestations—such as Taka Kenstan’s appearance and the destruction of the Huntington Mountain Range—made concealment increasingly impossible. 726

Public disclosure

The Divine Eagle Federation and other nations ultimately disclosed the truth of the Dark Age and the Mystic Side through coordinated broadcasts. Governments released large amounts of occult information and deployed state-affiliated supernatural organizations to manage public panic and the resulting disorder. 834

Transcendentalists and advancement

Professionals

“Professionals” are beings who have mastered supernatural power and can continuously advance through a defined path or inheritance. Examples include Witches, Beastmasters, Secret Medicine Masters, Spirit Mediums, Healers, Item Forgers, and Light Knights. 42 51 92 98

Inheritances and lineages

Complete inheritances give established organizations and ancient lineages a major advantage. Those with preserved paths can become stronger as the Spiritual Tide returns, while newcomers often struggle to enter a Professional sequence at all. 42

Wild Witch lineages face a particular obstacle: even after meeting ordinary advancement conditions, they may lack a way to enter the relevant Mystery and obtain the power required for Professional promotion. 384

Bloodline awakenings are another major source of Transcendental power. Individuals may inherit supernatural traits from ancient ancestors or powerful nonhuman bloodlines, though incomplete inheritance information and unstable mental states can make such awakenings dangerous. 336 448 490

Knowledge, trade, and communication

Knowledge monopoly

Occult knowledge is a critical resource on the Mystic Side. Long-established institutions such as the Authorities and the Church of Light possess historical books and records unavailable to wild Transcendentalists and newly formed organizations. 372

This imbalance extends beyond combat: knowledge of Mystical Items, rituals, professions, advancement methods, and supernatural dangers can determine whether a Transcendentalist survives an encounter. 75 223 372

Markets and Mystical Items

Mystical materials and items circulate through hidden markets, private exchanges, and specialized transaction centers. People living in wilderness regions, tribes, or occult communities often collect and sell materials that urban residents dismiss as superstition. 73

Most Mystical Items have no alignment, though some actively hunt or endanger living beings. Their properties often require Transcendental knowledge to decipher, while powerful items may demand recognition from their creator or wielder before they can be used. 75 504 691

Mystic media

The Mysterious Daily was among the first newspapers to distribute Mystic Side news across the entire Federation. Its appearance caused a major reaction because it provided information to a broad Transcendental audience in a form not seen during the Dark Era or Age of Ignorance. 352

Other major publications include the Transcendental Federation Daily, Light Daily, and Heart of the Saint. Their reporting can influence public reputation, spread information about major incidents, and expose the actions of prominent Transcendentalists. 352 490

Threats and instability

• Abnormalities — Supernatural entities and phenomena emerging alongside the returning Spiritual Tide; they are expected to become too numerous to conceal from ordinary people. 46
• Evil God organizations — Ancient cults and factions have re-emerged, often causing large-scale corruption, sacrifices, containment breaches, or attempts to open foreign-realm entrances. 548 901
• Foreign realms and creatures — The recovering Mystic Side has reopened contact with dangerous realms, races, Deities, and supernatural ecosystems beyond Origin Star. 355 694
