In a dark alley somewhere in Hawknest City, amid a filthy heap of garbage, a weathered, dejected figure slowly rose to his feet.
Stan Duplessis had no time to feel the earth-shaking changes in his new body brought about by the return of his transformed soul. All that filled his mind were the only words the Great Being had left behind when casting him out of the realm.
Out of reverence for his "master," Stan automatically ignored the first two words.
Although he could tell from that trace of malicious humor that the master who had granted him unbelievable power and rebirth was clearly not the perfect, radiant deity found in countless legends and myths, but another kind of supreme ruler.
He surely would not mind Stan repeating those words, nor would he mind his presumptuous speculation.
Yet Stan remained reverent, for Stan Duplessis had now been completely reborn.
He lowered his head slightly, silently sensing his transforming body. At the same time, he could not help recalling the fleeting glimpse he had caught upon leaving that incredible "Dreamland"—that incomparably vast, unbelievable world.
At the same time, he began receiving some knowledge, much of the common sense of the Mystic Side.
"I have become the follower of a great master. I am now a newborn witch, a Dream Witch? Or perhaps a Secret Witch?"
"I belong to the Neutral Faction. When there are no missions, I am completely free."
