Outside the building, Tang Qi swept his gaze over the Furnace Witches, and a number naturally surfaced in his mind.

"Forty!"

Tang Qi gave an almost imperceptible nod. He was fairly satisfied with that number.

Sixty new Furnace Witches had emerged across the Holy Eagle's Nest metropolitan area. Every one of them had received his invitation, and nearly seventy percent had ultimately come. The result was actually somewhat beyond his expectations.

Although these newborn witches had all been ordinary people before.

Anyone selected would naturally possess some hidden trait that set them apart from ordinary humans, or rather, talent.

Receiving an unexpected invitation from their "nominal leader," anyone with basic vigilance would probably not come without precautions. Some Furnace Witches who were especially wary, or who had other plans, would not come at all.

Then there was a smiling old man whose bag contained even more firearms. Tang Qi had no idea how they had slipped those useless things past security and brought them up here.

Tang Qi did not expose them. His gaze finally settled on the two who had completed their "first Furnace kill."

One of them was already very familiar to Tang Qi.

Klaus Lovich, a Failed Painter with an utterly abnormal thought process.

With a casual glance, Tang Qi sensed the concentration of Furnace Magic Power within Klaus. Clearly, he had followed Tang Qi's advice and diligently meditated and practiced the Tempering Method. His restored eyes also showed that he had not foolishly stared directly at the sun again.
