Wasteland Love Story

The land lay shrouded in radiant dust and ash. Black water flowed from a distant river valley, and with a thunderous boom, a bloated Female Monster covered in countless Black Roots engraved with agonized faces collapsed.

She had suffered some kind of soul-related attack. As her body crashed into the shallow water and splashed up black mud thick with pollution, monsters flew out one after another from the gray, glowing dust.

These monsters were a deep blue all over and resembled jellyfish. Yet their main bodies were thin membranes covering flesh-pink human brains. They seemed to regard the "radiation-filled air" as an ocean and swam through it.

Their numbers were terrifying. The entire downstream region of the river valley was filled with nothing but them.

Just as they waved their transparent tentacles and surged forward to devour their prey—

Without a sound, a humanoid monster wielding a longsword entered their territory.

He had arms and legs resembling those of a human, except the skin covering them was bluish-green. His head was hideous, covered in dense tentacle-like appendages and dozens of scalp-numbing eyeballs.

His body had clearly grown once more. Fear still lingered in those eyeballs, but at that moment, he was like the most ruthless and swift killer.

"You should repent!"

As the astonishing Ancient Federation Language left his mouth, the Sword of Repentance in Bliss's hand erupted with countless sword lights, ravaging the lower river valley like a storm.

The jellyfish monsters were forced to concentrate their attacks on him.

Several dozen breaths later, Bliss dragged his battered body across a layer of soft corpses blanketing the ground and disappeared into the radiant dust once more.
