"Battlefield of the Gods!"

The expressions of the forty Furnace Witches froze at once. Shock and excitement flashed through their eyes. All forty of them had only recently become extraordinary individuals. Though they had completed numerous Training Missions, they had never taken part in a true Transcendental War.

Then, without warning, their leader told them that where they stood at that very moment was the highest peak of the New Continent during the Dark Age. They all knew the meaning of "Denali" in the native language of the New Continent: the place closest to the gods and the sun.

And on the Mystic Side, in this place and this era, it meant that by climbing to the mountaintop, one could pass through the rift there and enter the Battlefield of the Gods.

Every extraordinary individual knew what kind of place the Battlefield of the Gods was.

"During the Great Cataclysm of the Dark Age, the gods of every faction waged war against one another in the mysteries. That unprecedented war swept through a vast portion of the myriad spirits above the mysteries. Nearly every Master Level god took part."

"God corpses could be seen everywhere on that battlefield, and anything drifting by could be a divine artifact."

"Of course, it also meant unimaginable danger. Anyone below Demigod Level who entered would not even have time to see the battlefield before being killed by the rampant divine contamination. Even Demigod Level extraordinary individuals would be little more than cannon fodder there."

"Penelope's sworn enemy is inside the Battlefield of the Gods?"

"But that can't be right. The leader said this time-space isn't the real history of the Dark Age. Would the Great Cataclysm still happen in this world? Would there still be a battlefield?"
