Background and History

The Federation was established at the end of the Great Cataclysm by human heroes led by the Twelve Saints. In its early years, the Saints and other heroes repelled lesser deities and alien monsters that attempted to invade the weakened Origin Star. 8 556

Much of its territory had formerly been conquered by the Anglo Empire. The Federation emerged through its War of Independence, during which figures such as Samuel Winston aided the rebels. 276

A century before the return of the Mystic Side, a mysterious meteor crossed Origin Star and supernatural phenomena vanished almost overnight. The Federation and other nations subsequently concealed Transcendental history and remaining supernatural knowledge while modern science and technology rapidly developed. 8 745

Territory and Population

• The Federation occupies nearly 90% of the New Continent and contains nearly sixty states, excluding overseas territories. 748

Federal Government

The Federation is headed by a president; Joey Cleveland presided over the public launch of the Decryption Plan and the disclosure of the Mystic Side. Its political center is Eagleheart Palace, located atop Eagle's Nest Rock on Mount Saint Wilson rather than in Hawknest City. 744 763 834

Eagleheart Palace was built around the Binossus Study Hall, a Dark Age meeting place for the protectors of Federation settlements. Its Covenant Hall is protected by contract-related powers that prevent any signatory from breaking an agreement. 744

The Authorities

The Authorities operate the Federation's major official Mystic Side agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Investigation Bureau, and regional organizations such as the Manor Bureau. They maintain containment facilities, deploy Transcendental agents, and coordinate responses to supernatural incidents. 255 258 743

Holy Eagle's Nest Society

The Holy Eagle's Nest Society is a loose but influential organization whose members have differing interests. Its founding principle is the protection of Federation interests, and its members can exert substantial political and Transcendental influence. 554 558

Church of Light

The Church of Light has been a dominant force within the Federation since its founding, with influence second only to the official government. Its Federation branch attained a status and power comparable to the Church headquarters on the Old Continent. 498 419

National Mystical Assets

• Hero Contract — A sacred federal artifact bearing the names and contracts of historical heroes. Its accumulated power surpasses the Demigod level and can manifest the decree: “Federation, NO King allowed!” 418 419
• Heroic Spirit Sets — More than half of the Federation's nearly one hundred Founding Fathers left behind sets containing their power. Compatible wearers can temporarily gain a founder's abilities and serve as Contract Guardians. 739
• Lord of Thorns Statue — A colossal statue gifted by the Europa Alliance after the Great Cataclysm. It represented the Federation's founding heroes, the Thorns Codex, and the defeat of demons and monsters; its paired Wings of Freedom were lost for centuries. 8

The New Era

The Federation planned to end a century of concealment by integrating the Mystic Side into public life. Its preparations included a Presidential Supernatural Advisory Group, a premier Mystic Side university, a public Mystic Side library, and the systematic release of formerly sealed information. 738 743 744

On January 10, President Joey Cleveland broadcast the truth of the Dark Age, the return of supernatural phenomena, and humanity's former status as prey to fiends, alien invaders, and Evil Gods. The resulting release of suppressed memories and information forced hundreds of millions of citizens to confront the Transcendental World. 834

The broadcast was immediately exploited by the Eerie Black Mud, which seized the Federation's screens and contaminated citizens at the soul level. Tang Qi used Dreamland Nodes across the country to oppose the invasion, while Furnace Witches blocked the monsters emerging through the Black Mud's Blood Road. 835

The crisis escalated when Engineer Experiment Subjects attacked the Federal Outer Waters and a Plunderer Civilization fleet invaded Mihuang State. The Federation's defenses, Tang Qi's Dream Familiars, and the Super Evil God—Mechanical Star Destroyer were deployed to prevent mass destruction. 836 837 839

Society in the Transcendental Era

The exposure of the Mystic Side produced public panic, demonstrations, new sects, and demands ranging from regulation of Transcendentalists to their outright removal from society. 859

The Furnace Legion became both a Federation law-enforcement force and a highly popular Transcendentalist sect. Its leading members became public idols, and its operations against supernatural threats were broadcast nationwide. 979
