Beneath the thick night fog, peaks stood tall, ridge upon ridge stretching endlessly.
"Sixth Brother, take it easy. Don't do anything reckless!" Zhou Tian urged.
His scalp prickled. Qin Ming had actually stopped and was waiting for the Feathered Immortal to approach.
Zhou Tian was afraid his sixth brother would get carried away and charge in to fight that monster to the death.
"I know," Qin Ming said.
The Feathered Immortal's silhouette loomed through the fog, vaster than a mountain. Its blurred outline made it all the more oppressive. A huge tentacle silently reached toward them.
Boom! It pierced a quiet mountain peak, splitting it into four. Then the peak exploded.
Dust surged skyward, rocks flew in every direction, and falling cliffs slammed into the ground with a thunderous rumble.
Qin Ming had not been struck. Using a marvelous art from the Black White Scripture, he took Zhou Tian and Si Yeli with him as they vanished, their forms dispersing without a trace.
They reappeared in the distance as black-and-white mist.
Si Yeli was not nervous. Her eyes curved with delight, and wonder colored her breathtaking face. "Just now, we seemed both real and illusory. Our flesh shifted between substance and void. How marvelous."
Zhou Tian stared in shock. What could he say? His sixth brother must have "attained enlightenment" in the Yin-Yang Ruins back then to have mastered such an extraordinary ability.
Qin Ming no longer wanted only to flee. He wanted to take the initiative and wear away the wisp of Wondrous Yellow Qi protecting the Feathered Immortal.
