the gears operating at a steady pace within the Clock Tower suddenly began rotating at varying frequencies.
It was not an emergency. Someone was transmitting information to the Holy City through Destiny Space.
The Clock Master immediately "translated" the different gear frequencies, converting them into an audio file stored inside an exquisite Message Box.
This was the method of communication between different main cities.
Using the fixed serial numbers of the Gate of Destiny, they could transmit information to designated recipients.
Generally speaking, they only contacted one another over relatively important matters, since it consumed a certain number of points... Destiny Points were wealth, resources, and a direct weapon against fiends for humanity at this stage.
Information sent from other main cities had to be delivered directly to the council by the Clock Master.
A Diplomatic Councilor specifically responsible for relations between main cities would receive the contents transmitted by the other side.
