"Currency"

The trading currency used in Divine Capital—Akamaggan was neither banknotes nor gold, silver, or copper coins, nor was it based on bartering.

In this "deformed" city, there existed a unique, irreproducible currency closely tied to an individual's life.

To acquire such currency, one had to undergo a "Wallet Surgery."

Han Dong had received this surgery for free in the Beast Arena.

A black tubular container—a wallet—was implanted into the right forearm. Since the container was fairly large, half of the wallet remained exposed on the surface of the arm.

The exposed portion of the tubular container was marked with capacity measurements.

The "wallet" also came with a dedicated interface, making it convenient to "receive payments" and "make payments."

Since the wallet was an Embedded Type container, the nature of the currency became clear... black water.

Black water, known as the "Origin of All Things" and the "Foundation of the Divine Capital," was the only circulating currency in this deformed city.

Of course, just as Han Dong had initially determined, black water itself varied in quality.

The black water circulating throughout the Divine Capital as standard currency was of slightly higher quality than what Han Dong had seen outside the planet... judging by his tests, it was "below average" quality.

The black water stored in Han Dong's arm container—his two months' wages—came to exactly 200 mL.

Black water below this quality could not be recognized by the "wallet."

Black water above the standard grade would not be stored in wallets either, and was traded through special means... it was difficult to exchange standard black water for high-quality black water.

Such "premium goods," comparable to diamonds in human society, circulated only among the upper classes or in darker corners.

The roads were constructed from evenly arranged giant ribs and concrete.
