Ascension Competition

The Ascension Competition had been established and implemented early on by the Black Gold Pyramid, the highest governing body of the Holy City. It was the only path of promotion for "Upper Slaves," and also the only way for slaves at the very bottom to prove themselves to the pharaoh and those in power.

It was held once every month.

Anyone granted the status of "Upper Slave" by a local company, organization, or institution could participate.

Being promoted to an "Upper Slave" meant they had at least earned the recognition of some middle-ranking authorities.

Out of consideration for "talent," the competition's lethality was not particularly high, and it was instead divided into different stages.

Only contestants who failed to meet even the lowest standard would die during the competition, while the organizations that had promoted them would also be punished.

As long as contestants met the basic standard, they would earn the right to survive... Even if they failed to ascend, they could continue participating the following month.

It was precisely because of this talent-preservation measure.
