Recruitment of Song Chengan

Song Chengyun was dispatched by his father, Song Shangyuan, to bring Song Zhengxin’s son, Song Chengan, back to the Tiancui Song Family. He approached the task arrogantly, offering cultivation resources only if Chengan’s talent proved worthwhile and boasting that no other clan in Chuzhou could rival the Song Family. 134 136

Although he called Chengan his “brother,” Chengyun later abandoned him in Lingqiu City with only a map to the Song Family estate, revealing his unreliable and self-centered side. 143

Life in the Song Family

After Chengan reached the Song estate, Chengyun served as an informal guide. He explained the Soul Lantern bloodline test, the Mingxin Mirror’s interrogation function, and the Song Family’s internal customs. 157 159
