Background / History
Tang San grew up in Holy Soul Village as Tang Hao's son. His Blue Silver Grass martial soul was judged to have poor potential, but his Innate Full Soul Power earned him the village's sole Work-Study Student quota for Notting City Junior Soul Master Academy. He expressed concern that granting the opportunity to him instead of Ye Feng was unfair. 3
At Notting Academy, Tang San became Yu Xiaogang's disciple and fiercely defended his teacher against criticism. He was later revealed to possess Twin Martial Souls: Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer. 8 12 131
After entering Shrek Academy, Tang San continued to pursue Ye Feng, whom he regarded as the benchmark he needed to surpass. In the Star Dou Great Forest, he defied Zhao Wuji's warning and absorbed the over-aged Man Faced Demon Spider soul ring, gaining his Third Soul Ring and the Eight Spider Lances. 66 67
Ye Feng later told Tang San how to resolve the issue of attaching soul rings to both Twin Martial Souls. Tang San began adding ten-thousand-year soul rings to his Clear Sky Hammer, intending to use it to challenge Ye Feng. 97 111
Frustrated by being repeatedly denied tournament appearances, Tang San left Shrek Academy with Dai Mubai and joined Blazing Academy. During the Promotion Tournament, he faced his former team and was decisively defeated by Ye Feng's Sword and Man as One technique. 127 128 173 175
Tang Hao rescued Tang San from Ye Feng during the finals. Father and son reunited after eight years apart, and Tang Hao revealed the Clear Sky Sect's ultimate arts, including the Great Sumeru Hammer, before taking Tang San for further cultivation. 197 199
During his absence from the continent, Tang San entered Slaughter City, gained the Divine Slaughter Domain, studied under Tang Yuehua for a year, and concealed his identity with the Disguise Technique. He ultimately became the Dragon God and ascended to the God Realm. 279 294
Personality
Tang San is intensely determined and willing to endanger himself for power. He chose to absorb a soul ring beyond the normally acceptable age limit because he believed his physical constitution could withstand it. 66
He is deeply proud of his abilities, teacher, and heritage. He reacted sharply when Wang Sheng criticized Yu Xiaogang, and Ye Feng describes Tang San as someone who pursues perfection to an unhealthy degree. 12
His rivalry with Ye Feng repeatedly exposes both his ambition and insecurity. Tang San studies Ye Feng's abilities, seeks methods to counter him, and remains convinced that the Clear Sky Hammer, poison techniques, or hidden weapons can eventually close their gap. 97 127 158 199
