Yuanzu City's library, like the Barracks, was a large building complex that occupied an entire mountaintop.

Along the zigzagging mountain path were seven platforms of varying sizes.

Each platform held a large library and many small houses.

However, Gu Xi had a feeling that the mountain before him had probably been hollowed out, its entire interior concealing countless books.

After entering the library gates, he found two paths leading up the mountain to the left and right. Several players stood before them, serving as guides.

By now, Gu Xi already knew that these players acting as guides were really just placeholders.

They had been specially assigned there to recruit people.

Otherwise, why would a library need guides?

Wouldn't most people simply go look for the books they wanted?

Those guides were so idle they were practically growing fur.

Gu Xi had no intention of asking them anything.

After parting ways with Eve, Gu Xi followed the path on the right up the mountain.

As he climbed, Gu Xi was not as hurried as the others.

Instead, he actually took notice of the scenery around the library.

Although the library had seven platforms of different sizes and appeared to offer little in the way of scenery, once he stepped off the narrow stone stairs, Gu Xi realized that the knowledge recorded in the library was not necessarily all kept in the Book Collection Building.

Nor was it necessarily all hidden within the mountain.

Even the trees on the mountain bore traces of knowledge.

Each large tree had a small sign hanging from it.

At first, Gu Xi thought these signs recorded the species of each tree and when it had been planted.

But upon closer inspection, he found that was not the case.

They listed all sorts of book titles.
