After sending out most of the War Wolves, Gu Xi stayed where he was for the night. Only early the next morning did he set out again.
By then, the battlefield had already been cleared up.
Most of the undead had withdrawn back into Aryadovi City, leaving only the original force of over one hundred thousand behind. Though they had suffered losses in the previous battle, every loss had been replenished, restoring their numbers to their original level.
Wei Hu's eight hundred Dragonkin, however, could not be replenished. Only seven hundred and nine Dragonkin remained.
While Gu Xi rested, Wei Hu personally gathered the Dragonkin corpses and burned them to ashes.
Gu Xi did not stop him.
Most of the fallen Dragonkin had been ordinary Dragonkin with limited potential.
As Moore put it, they were not even good enough to become a patched-together Bone Dragon.
Taking their corpses back would only waste time. Gu Xi might as well do Wei Hu a favor.
Thus, while Wei Hu dealt with the Dragonkin corpses, Gu Xi merely went over for a look and did nothing unnecessary.
When dawn broke on the second day and they set off again, Gu Xi noticed that after a night of recovery, the Dragonkin's morale had risen significantly.
They marched excitedly at the very front of the formation, as though they had suffered no losses in yesterday's battle.
Gu Xi, seated atop the Holy Silver Evil Coffin, did not quite understand this.
Still, he could tell that Wei Hu was like an uncut gem, revealing a different kind of brilliance under the polish of battle.
Perhaps one day, Wei Hu would take that step into the Epic-level.
