Ding! You have gained control of a city (Aryadovi)!
An Undead City belonging to the player has been discovered. Would you like to lock it as a Death City?
Although he had not yet seen Aryadovi's details, Gu Xi made his decision immediately.
"Lock it!"
Lock successful. Death City—Aryadovi. To unlock the city, please select an unlocking quest!
After the information faded, Gu Xi finally looked at the map before him.
Gu Xi discovered that the map on the table showed more than half of Aryadovi. Aside from the 0.9 square kilometers that had already become his territory, it also included maps of a third of the nearby city.
A black skull wearing a crown marked the location of the Council Hall, while triangles, squares, and pentagons represented Small Plots, Medium Plots, and Large Plots respectively.
There were five Small Plots within the 0.9 square kilometers shown on the map. One had already been occupied and was a Water Well that also served as a Sewer entrance.
There were three Medium Plots, one of which had already been occupied by a Candle Factory.
There were two Large Plots, one of which had already been occupied by a church.
Whenever Gu Xi focused on a plot, corresponding prompts appeared, explaining the functions of occupied plots, the conditions needed to activate them, or what buildings could be constructed on unoccupied plots.
In addition, at the edges of the city were passages leading in other directions. Gu Xi counted carefully and found five in total, with each road marked with the area it led to.
At the same time, every road had been crossed out, indicating that none of the five routes had been opened yet.
However, from the current situation, it was clear that once the passages were opened, he would be able to occupy other areas of Aryadovi City.
After reviewing the city's general layout, Gu Xi glanced at the information at the bottom of the map and gained a detailed understanding of Aryadovi.
City Name: Aryadovi City Direction: Death City City Trait: Contested Territory (More than half of the city is uncontrolled territory. The city may be attacked by enemies from uncontrolled areas at any time. If the city is conquered, the city territory can automatically expand.) City Level: Level 1 (9/10. The city gains 3 experience points for having one Core Building and one Large Building, 2 experience points for a Medium Building, and 1 experience point for a Small Building or Auxiliary Building.) Core Building (1/1): Council Hall (Grants 500 Negative Energy Points per day) Large Building (1/2): Church (Not activated. Requires 20 Skeleton Soldiers to be stationed there before activation. Once activated, it can be upgraded into an Evil Church and can train 20 Skeleton Soldiers per week.) Medium Building (1/3): Candle Factory (Not activated. Requires 20 units of Abomination corpses to activate. Once activated, it can be upgraded into a White Candle Factory, providing 300 Negative Energy Points per day and 30 units of White Candles per week.) Small Building (1/5): Water Well (Not activated. Requires entering the Sewer and conquering the First Street Block sewer before activation. Once activated, the number of soldiers trainable each week increases by 50%.) Auxiliary Building (0/10): None Stationed Hero: None Stationed Troops: None
Gu Xi had learned a little about the characteristics of various city buildings while he was in school.
Core Buildings were, in fact, buildings that every city was guaranteed to have. No matter how large a city was, each time it leveled up, it gained space for one additional Core Building.
They included the Council Hall, Magic Tower, Blacksmith Shop, market, Barracks, and Warehouse that every city had from the beginning. These were buildings no type of city would lack.
Large Buildings fell into two categories. One consisted of buildings such as unit Training Camps, like the currently inactive church.
The other category consisted of large buildings unique to particular cities. For example, Orc Cities had Colosseums, Human Cities often had Stables, while Undead Cities primarily featured buildings such as Dark Canopies, Crypts, Skeleton Conversion Fields, and Summoning Towers.
Medium Buildings mainly concerned resources. Some, such as Farmland, Fishing Spots, Mines, Enchantment Points, and Slaughterhouses, existed in most cities. Others were resource points exclusive to specific races, such as the Magic Pools of Elf Cities and the Vaults of Dwarf Cities.
Small Buildings were those that increased a city's combat power or troop strength. City Walls, Arrow Towers, Fortune Springs, and mana pools all fell into this category.
The City Gate created by Gu Xi's new skill, Death City, also counted as a type of Small Building.
More importantly, the City Gate, the Moat, and the drawbridge over the river counted as three separate Small Buildings.
Auxiliary Buildings were much simpler. Street Lamps along the roadside and Signposts on the streets all counted as Auxiliary Buildings. Overall, these buildings did not have much impact on a city, but their absence would be deeply inconvenient.
Some Achievement Statues also counted as Auxiliary Buildings. Like Core Buildings, Auxiliary Buildings were unrelated to land area and instead depended on city level. Each time the city leveled up, ten additional Auxiliary Buildings could be constructed.
It could be said that if one wanted to level up quickly, constructing more Auxiliary Buildings was the proper way.
Of course, Gu Xi was not in a hurry right now. This city was already in his hands, so his priority was naturally dealing with its safety.
Gu Xi had already seen that Aryadovi had been classified as Contested Territory.
He could understand that.
The entire city covered 2.9 square kilometers, while he occupied only 0.9 square kilometers—not even a third of it.
The rest of the city was still in the enemy's hands. If that did not count as Contested Territory, then nothing did.
Of the five roads outside the city, three led to other districts of Aryadovi, while another led to the Mirror Dungeon they had come through.
According to the map, that Mirror Dungeon also had a name: Aryadovi Tower. It was a mirror copy of Victoria Tower and the core controlling all of Aryadovi City.
If he captured that Castle, all resources within the city—including unit training and material production speed—would double.
At the same time, when the Death City reached Level 17, the Battle Fortress deployed would also be this Castle.
The final road led outside the city. Gu Xi had no idea what was there, and the road bore no label other than the word "Danger."
After considering it, Gu Xi decided to activate the three buildings in his territory first.
He would consider the rest later.
Now that Aryadovi was in his hands, even if he logged out of the game, he could still enter and leave Aryadovi freely. There was no urgent need to conquer the other places just yet.
For now, he needed to sort out the issue of his troops first.
Just then, Luna floated in as well.
"My lord, I have an idea regarding this city."
