The Twisted Magician

Luna's Touch of Frost was fairly effective. As long as it made contact, no matter the target's level, it would be affected to some extent.

This was exactly the opportunity Gu Xi had been waiting for. As Luna froze the black shadow, Gu Xi raised his hand and fired a Bone Spike.

Frozen for a moment, the black shadow's body visibly stalled. His method of moving as a shadow came to a complete stop, and the Bone Spike easily pierced his body.

As soon as he was struck by the Bone Spike, the Skeleton Soldiers near Gu Xi immediately pounced on him, attacking him with thrusting spears and slashing swords.

He still relied on his own power to continuously release red light. Each blast could shatter a Skeleton Soldier.

But there were simply too many Skeleton Soldiers. No matter how capable he was, he only managed to shatter two or three of them.

Before long, the man was hacked to death by the Skeleton Soldiers.

Twisted Magician? What kind of existence was that? Before Gu Xi could figure out the connection, he suddenly heard the sound of High-Speed Movement behind him.

Gu Xi turned around and saw another black-robed man dressed exactly like the Twisted Magician in the small courtyard of the apartment building.

However, he looked much older. Long white hair spilled from beneath his black hood, greasy enough to shine, as though he had never bothered to groom it.

When he stopped in the courtyard, the first thing he saw was the black shadow the Skeleton Soldiers had killed.

The black-robed man's face immediately twisted. "Harry, you killed my son! I'll kill you all!"

With that, the black-robed man pointed forward, firing another red beam at Gu Xi.

The Skeleton Soldiers beside Gu Xi quickly stepped forward and blocked the attack for him.

However, Gu Xi clearly noticed that the Skeleton Soldier shattered this time had been blown into much smaller pieces.

"Hold him back."

As Gu Xi spoke, he hurled a Bone Spike at his opponent. At the same time, he thought, Next time, I need to learn another Ranged Attack that can track enemies. Relying on Bone Spikes alone might not be enough to kill an arch-enemy.

Under Gu Xi's command, the Skeleton Soldiers quickly charged forward.

But just like the Twisted Magician who had been killed earlier, this man possessed the ability to turn into a black shadow and move at high speed.

Knowing Gu Xi could fire Bone Spikes, the man swiftly rolled to the side.

But Gu Xi had only pointed casually. As the man rolled, three Flying Daggers had already shot from Gu Xi's left hand.

The Flying Daggers traveled slightly faster than Bone Spikes and could accurately strike wherever Gu Xi intended. Though the man rolled quickly, one dagger still struck him.

Yet he had no intention of pulling out the dagger. Instead, he sprang up and pointed toward Gu Xi.

At this point, Gu Xi no longer had any Skeleton Soldiers carrying shields.

But a Skeleton Soldier wielding a Long Spear immediately appeared before him, voluntarily blocking the attack for Gu Xi.

Gu Xi also used this chance to throw another dagger at the man.

It was as though he were telling the enemy, I'm out of Mana. Come and cause me trouble.

Sure enough, the man understood the meaning behind Gu Xi's attacks and decisively charged toward him.

But just as he was about to start moving, Gu Xi suddenly drew the Powderize Staff and pointed it at the black-robed man.

The sight of Gu Xi's new weapon startled the black-robed man, and his movements noticeably slowed.

Without any visible movement from him, a scream came from inside the small building. It sounded like the wail of someone at death's door, even more miserable than Luna's Banshee's Wail.

Gu Xi had no idea what had happened inside the building. Just as he looked in that direction, he saw a mass of blood fly out from the building and land precisely on the black-robed man.

The instant the blood fell on him, the black-robed man absorbed all of it. Gu Xi then watched in shock as the leg that had been blown off was restored to its original state.

Even the black-robed man's pale hair had turned black, making him look full of vitality.

Had he been reborn, or resurrected?

Gu Xi was utterly confused, but he understood one thing: that ring with the large stone had absorbed the power of blood and restored the black-robed man's strength to its peak.

All of Gu Xi's attacks over the past half day had been for nothing.

Faced with this situation, Gu Xi remained decisive. "Attack! Don't let him get moving!"

Luna immediately appeared behind him, and Touch of Frost landed on his body.

But the black-robed man's combat strength had clearly risen to its absolute peak. Frost appeared on his body for only an instant before vanishing on the spot.

Gu Xi could no longer worry about anything else. Five Bone Spikes flew toward the black-robed man, while Gu Xi rushed at him. This time, it seemed he was going into melee combat.
