Before Gu Xi could finish complaining internally, the sound of flapping wings came from the sky.
Looking up, Gu Xi saw a large number of strangely shaped Gargoyles diving down from above.
These Gargoyles were simplified versions as well.
With their wings spread, they were only the size of A4 paper, and their wings were so thin they could have been used as kites.
Although their bodies were made of stone, calling them budget versions was no longer appropriate. Skeleton versions would have been more accurate.
Everything that could be removed from the Gargoyles had been removed. Now, only their heads remained relatively intact. Their arms consisted of nothing but claws, they had no legs at all, and their lower bodies were reduced to a single tail.
Yet they did not wobble as they flew. Instead, lacking sufficient energy, they had developed the habit of locking onto a target and charging straight toward it.
Gu Xi was the target they had locked onto.
In the Gargoyles' eyes, Gu Xi stood alone atop the Summoning Tower, so conspicuous that if they did not attack him, who else would they attack?
But they had never expected that when Gu Xi saw them flying toward him, he would look utterly delighted.
He even held back the Death Avatar-Bone Dragon, which had wanted to charge out, and raised the Cold Wind Staff toward the sky.
Magic Arrow!
Over the past three months, Gu Xi had practiced all kinds of magic with tremendous diligence.
Spells such as Magic Arrow, Bone Spike, and Lesser Bone Shield had all been raised to quite high levels.
Even so, Gu Xi still felt he had too little time. None of these spells had yet been practiced to their limits.
