Ch. 703Three Hours Paving the Road, One Minute Passing Through

Gu Xi learned that the empty Mine Core could strengthen the Nether Soul Dragon or Bone Armor Centipede, then followed the Ghost Dragon through the underground passages. After Dali found and marked the correct route, Gu Xi rode the Evil Coffin through the labyrinth and emerged almost immediately.

  • Gu Xi examined the drained Mine Core and learned that the Nether Soul Dragon and Bone Armor Centipede wanted to fuse it into their bones.
  • Gu Xi gave the Mine Core to the Nether Soul Dragon and asked the Ghost Dragon to lead him onward.
  • Gu Xi met Dali, who reported that six branches remained unexplored and distributed collected items among his leaders.
  • Dali found the correct route, marked it with Street Lamps, and warned Gu Xi how to avoid getting lost.
  • Gu Xi followed the lights on the Evil Coffin and sped through the passage in about a minute.

Ch. 704Fighting Alone on All Sides

Gu Xi fought through another underground space alone, then ordered Dali to clear it quickly while he summoned troops. The Book of Insect Gestation materialized, completing its advancement and raising Gu Xi’s Summoning Level Cap to 30.

  • Gu Xi froze and destroyed the charging golems and Puppets with Ice Ring and White Bone Canopy before Dali arrived.
  • Gu Xi ordered Dali to clean up the battlefield and find the passage to the next Underground World, warning him to move quickly.
  • Gu Xi moved the Steel City Gate and Summoning Tower into the space and considered building dedicated Summoning Towers in Aryadovi City for his Advancement Books.
  • Gu Xi summoned 2,393 Lurking Spiders from the scattered corpses, completing the Book of Insect Gestation’s advancement and raising his Summoning Level Cap to 30.

Ch. 705A Haul That Drives People Mad

Gu Xi delegated the conquest of underground spaces to his Heroes and Undead Headmen so he could focus on summoning troops and transforming mine veins into Ghost Dragons. After three days of major gains, he set aside further troop farming and traveled to the underground space where he had first been deployed.

  • Gu Xi stopped conquering underground spaces personally and assigned his Heroes to relay locations while Undead Headmen led forces to clear them.
  • Gu Xi ordered the Heroes to arrange corpse transport and allowed participants to keep resources below purple grade.
  • Gu Xi inspected conquered mine veins and transformed those still holding Death Aura into Ghost Dragons, while the Nether Soul Dragon and Bone Armor Centipede consumed depleted Mine Cores.
  • Mido reported that a passage to the underground space behind the Stone Wall had been dug out, after Gu Xi's forces had cleared sixty-four spaces and killed over 173,000 enemies.
  • Gu Xi summoned over 86,000 Level 8 undead and created twenty-two level-13 Ghost Dragons, then decided to visit the underground space where he had first been deployed.

Ch. 706The Mastermind Behind the Scenes

Gu Xi joined Mido in digging toward an underground space where an enemy remained, and prepared to face whatever lay beyond. When the Corpse Worms broke through, Gu Xi sent his newly strengthened Death Avatar-Bone Dragon upward first.

  • Mido told Gu Xi that the Corpse Worms had found the correct route through the Stone Wall’s foundation and warned that digging might alert enemies.
  • Gu Xi used the Mind Nether Lamp to confirm the enemy was still in the underground space, then followed Mido through the excavated passage.
  • Mido explained how he had corrected their route after discovering that the passage had veered off course.
  • Gu Xi ordered the Corpse Worms to dig upward and prepared his Death Avatar while keeping his City Gates and larger undead in reserve.
  • The Corpse Worms broke through the final layer, and Gu Xi sent the bronze Death Avatar-Bone Dragon charging upward as the Death Avatar-Death God held onto it.

Ch. 707Dark Titan

Gu Xi and his Death Avatars defeated a mechanical Titan in an underground chamber. He discovered a dark golden oil lamp hidden above the machinery, and sensed a murderous presence inside it.

  • Death Avatar-Bone Dragon fought a black-skinned Titan that attacked with Black Lightning.
  • Gu Xi recognized that the Titan was level 7 and ordered Death Avatar-Death God to kill it with Death Reaping.
  • Death Avatar-Death God extracted the Titan's lightning-crackling soul, killing it.
  • Gu Xi spotted a gaze coming from above the instruments and directed Death Avatar-Bone Dragon to break a stalactite.
  • A dark golden Arab-style oil lamp fell from the stalactite, and Gu Xi sensed a murderous gaze inside it.

Ch. 708The Genie’s Core

Gu Xi fought the oil lamp and the pipes beneath the machinery, then pulled the Lamp God's Core from the lamp and watched it decay into a fragment. He discovered the lamp was the Genie’s mutated, weakened body and considered turning the Genie into an undead to learn more about the world.

  • Gu Xi ordered his equipment bearer to strike the oil lamp, sending it into machinery that released writhing pipes reaching toward the fallen Dark Titan.
  • Gu Xi sent a White Bone Storm and the Bone Armor Centipede to cut the pipes while his equipment bearer attacked the lamp again.
  • Gu Xi used the Demon Right Hand to pull a ruby from the lamp, but the Lamp God's Core rapidly decayed into a gray fragment.
  • Gu Xi ordered the Death Avatars to join the fight against the pipes, then inspected the lamp and found the Genie's body was Level 7 and undergoing an irreversible mutation.
  • Gu Xi realized the Genie might be turned into an undead and considered using it to learn about the world.

Ch. 709The Choice of the Book of Fate Caskets

Gu Xi examined the Genie’s oil lamp and learned that it had stored the world’s Earth Vein energy to preserve the Genie’s life. The Life Box Book offered a way to turn the lamp into a powerful Contract Undead, and Gu Xi considered the required conversion before Mido brought him a machine recovered by the Death Avatars.

  • Gu Xi confirmed that the oil lamp was a high-quality corpse containing Earth Vein energy, and realized he had destroyed the Genie’s long-running plan to sustain itself.
  • The Life Box Book displaced the Book of Aberrant Understanding and showed Gu Xi that the lamp could be converted into a Lich, including as a Contract Undead using the Genie’s core fragment as a life box.
  • Gu Xi weighed the Contract Undead option against his other choices and considered the importance of his existing Contract Undead.
  • Gu Xi reviewed the materials needed to preserve the Genie’s memories and abilities during conversion.
  • Mido reported finding something near the machines as the Death Avatar-Death God dragged a large piece of discarded machinery toward Gu Xi.

Ch. 710The Third Death Incarnation, Titan

Gu Xi destroyed the Modified Extraction Device and used the Heart of Unwillingness to create a new Death Avatar from the Titan’s remains. The Titan-form avatar emerged with unusual abilities, including the power to open the Gate of the Underworld.

  • Gu Xi examined the Modified Extraction Device and realized Death Avatar-Death God seemed to recognize something inside it.
  • Gu Xi ordered Death Avatar-Death God to cut open the device, revealing a Titan’s withered heart and the Heart of Unwillingness.
  • Gu Xi activated the Heart of Unwillingness with his Cold Wind Staff, causing his two existing Death Avatars to vanish as the Titan’s corpse and the device’s remains were drawn into the heart.
  • A new Death Avatar emerged from black liquid in Titan Form, with a hooded appearance and an oppressive aura.
  • Gu Xi inspected the new avatar’s information and was puzzled by its high Charisma and its Death Land skill, which could open the Gate of the Underworld.

Ch. 711The Fourth Contracted Undead

Gu Xi transformed the Genie into his fourth Contract Undead, Eve, using the Undead Transformation Array and a Lich’s life-box runes. After Eve accepted his contract and the oil lamp became her clothing and bangles, Gu Xi asked whether she knew the world.

  • Gu Xi used the Horizontally Openable School Gate to bring in gemstones and other materials for the transformation.
  • Gu Xi carved the Lich life-box runes onto the Lamp God Core and carefully arranged the Undead Transformation Array.
  • Gu Xi and the Death Wizard activated the array, transforming the Lamp God Core and Lamp Oil into a female Genie-like Lich.
  • Eve accepted Gu Xi’s Undead Pact and joined his forces as a level 7 Contract Undead.
  • The oil lamp became dark-gold bangles and a dress on Eve, and Gu Xi asked whether she was familiar with the world.

Ch. 712The Story Behind This World

Eve told Gu Xi how a rejected dragon-talented Hero stole Dragon Exile Tower's Puppet Dragon technology and adapted it at Silverlight Academy. After becoming a wandering Hero, he discovered that Earth Veins could strengthen his Puppet Dragons, then entered a war with three level 19 Puppet Dragons.

  • Eve explained that nine Tower factions and their level 19 guardians had maintained a balance while their factions fought over resources and technology.
  • Dragon Exile Tower developed a method for turning Titan hearts into Puppet Dragons, and a dragon-talented Hero sought to lead them but was rejected in favor of an upper rank's descendant.
  • The Hero stole Dragon Exile Tower's technology, fled to Silverlight Academy, and devised a way to make three Puppet Dragons from one Titan heart.
  • Silverlight Academy refused to recognize the Hero because the weakened Puppet Dragons only fought like true dragons under his command, leaving him a wandering outcast.
  • The Hero discovered that his Puppet Dragons needed life force and could grow stronger by drawing on Earth Veins, so he led them into the Underground World.
  • The Hero appeared in a war between the seven factions with three level 19 Puppet Dragons.

Ch. 713Even the Most Declined World Was Once Prosperous

Eve explained how the world’s factions had exhausted its Earth Veins, lowered its level cap, and left behind research and resources for Gu Xi. With her guidance, Gu Xi explored and looted the Underground World while continuing to raise the dead and transform Ghost Dragons; after five days, his forces had emptied the entire underground realm.

  • Eve recounted how factional research and Earth Vein extraction caused the world’s level cap to collapse, and how sealed troops later rebelled and were destroyed.
  • Eve revealed that she possessed research left by the seven major factions and had developed the world’s Mechanical Dolls, illusions, and surveillance devices.
  • Gu Xi focused on resources and sent his Ghost Squad to explore key sites, including a Puppet Dragon graveyard, a battlefield, and the remains of the sealed troops’ rebellion.
  • Grand Princess Anna organized newly raised Undead Army troops, Luna distributed supplies, and Shaya learned about the world from Eve while Gu Xi raised the dead and transformed Ghost Dragons.
  • After five days of exploration with Eve’s help, Gu Xi’s forces completed their search and emptied the Underground World.

Ch. 714Postwar Review

Gu Xi reviewed the spoils from the campaign with his Contract Undead and planned how to organize the new troops and rare corpses. The chapter ended with him examining the high-quality equipment his forces had submitted after distributing lower-grade loot among themselves.

  • Gu Xi and his Contract Undead reviewed the gains, while Luna asked him to find a Contract Undead specializing in finance because the records had become too complicated.
  • The returning army brought roughly 170,000 undead troops, more than 370 Undead Headmen, and more than 540 undead warriors for reorganization in Aryadovi City.
  • Gu Xi harvested seventy-nine Ghost Dragons and kept them under his command, while the Bone Titan quietly hoped to gain Titan companions from the collected corpses.
  • Gu Xi decided to send high-level corpses from the Ancient Battlefields to Aryadovi City for later Undead Transformation rather than risk summoning ordinary Skeletons from them.
  • Gu Xi distributed gray-, white-, and green-grade loot among the troops, and the submitted spoils included thirteen pieces of Purple Quality equipment and items.

Ch. 715Purple Gear: The Staff That Was Replaced

Gu Xi inspected the Purple Equipment recovered from the world and replaced his Cold Wind Staff with the incomplete Illusion Magic Staff, planning to combine them later. He also examined the Titan Slayer, a weapon built to kill Titans, but its powers carried severe risks.

  • Gu Xi reviewed the recovered loot, including 617 blue items, 79 pieces of Blue Equipment, 11 purple items, and two pieces of Purple Equipment.
  • Gu Xi equipped the incomplete Illusion Magic Staff and used the Fox Eye Ring to suppress its negative effects.
  • Gu Xi planned to find a blacksmith, upgrade the Cold Wind Staff, and use it as material to fuse with the Illusion Magic Staff.
  • Gu Xi examined the Titan Slayer and learned that its powers could greatly increase damage against Titans but could also drain his life or attract attacks from slain Titans.

Ch. 716Purple Items and Blue Gear

Gu Xi sorted through the purple and blue items he had recovered, deciding to keep the specialized Titan Slayer unused while claiming a Diamond Body, an Ancient Magic Book, and a Grand Mage Robe. He gave a Lightning Struck Stone to the Bone Titan, who absorbed its power and leveled up.

  • Gu Xi chose not to assign the Titan Slayer to an equipment bearer or any of his Death Avatars, leaving it aside.
  • Gu Xi found that the Diamond Body advanced his Sealed Power task to four of seven components.
  • Gu Xi identified the Ancient Magic Book as a Magic Tower prop and took the Grand Mage Robe for himself.
  • Gu Xi gave the Lightning Struck Stone to the Bone Titan, who absorbed its power and leveled up.

Ch. 717Leaving the World

Gu Xi collected the world’s blueprints and knowledge, then left World 52W3335L011291 as it slipped out of the Chaoyang Radiance Guild’s control. Soon afterward, Emmotep returned to the emptied world and discovered that everything useful had been taken.

  • Gu Xi gathered the building designs and knowledge he had acquired, then withdrew his city gates and prepared to leave.
  • Gu Xi confirmed he had found everything he wanted, accepted the warning that he could never return, and departed through a teleportation gate.
  • After Gu Xi left, World 52W3335L011291 became a No Man’s Land and began drifting beyond the guild’s control.
  • Emmotep, a level 11 black-skinned genie and former hero of Silverlight Academy, entered the world through a teleportation gate.
  • Emmotep searched the underground space and surface, found them stripped bare, and roared, “Where are my things!?”

Ch. 718Return to the Guild

Gu Xi reported the cause of the players’ losses in the Lower World to the Chaoyang Radiance Guild and arranged to contact Fang Kang about trading Building Blueprints. He then brought his old blue staff to the guild’s Blacksmith Shop to transfer its contents into his New Staff, where he learned the Old Staff would be destroyed either way.

  • Gu Xi gave the gate official a Stone Man device and explained how its illusion effects made players and their allies fight each other.
  • The official said the guild would record Gu Xi’s findings, verify them with players who had suffered losses, and then determine his reward.
  • Gu Xi asked the crows at the Sunset Hibiscus Tree to deliver Fang Kang a letter offering Building Blueprints in exchange for suitable sets of blueprints.
  • Gu Xi went to the Blacksmith Shop and asked about transferring the contents of his old blue staff into his New Staff.
  • A Ferocious Weasel explained that the transfer could be done by melting down the Old Staff or having the New Staff devour it, and that either method would destroy the old one.

Ch. 719Upgrading the Staff

Gu Xi decided to upgrade his Illusion Magic Staff by having it devour his Cold Wind Staff, transferring its inlays and using its materials to strengthen the newer weapon. With the blacksmith preparing the fusion, Gu Xi supplied a Mine Core and a clock tower hand as components.

  • The Ferocious Weasel explained how Gu Xi could transfer or sacrifice the Cold Wind Staff’s enhancements, and described a difficult possible path from Purple Equipment to Orange Equipment.
  • Gu Xi asked a blacksmith to make the Illusion Magic Staff devour the Cold Wind Staff, transfer its inlays, and use the old staff’s materials to strengthen it.
  • The blacksmith placed both staffs in a Magic Array and advised Gu Xi to supply materials for the Illusion Magic Staff’s missing parts.
  • Gu Xi offered an Ice Crystal, but the blacksmith rejected it for the current stage and accepted a drained Mine Core instead.
  • The blacksmith requested another material of comparable quality, and Gu Xi chose a Purple Quality clock tower hand he had meant to use on the Time Pointer.

Ch. 720The Upgraded Phantom Magic Staff

Gu Xi had the Blacksmith transform the Illusion Magic Staff, fusing in several materials and adapting it to his fighting style. The upgraded staff became his exclusive weapon, and the Blacksmith explained that purple equipment needed the potential to become Orange Equipment before an upgrade could succeed.

  • The Blacksmith placed a Soul Crystal in the Magic Array and told Gu Xi to stand in Position Two without moving.
  • The Magic Array melted the clock hands into patterns on the Illusion Magic Staff, then used the shattered Mine Core to fuse in the Cold Wind Staff and reshape the weapon.
  • Gu Xi emerged holding a longer staff with a vine-woven head, a patterned shaft, and a rootlike base designed to plant firmly in the ground.
  • Gu Xi found that the staff's traits and negative effects were unchanged, but it had become easier for him to use and gained six socket slots that preserved his gemstones' effects.
  • Gu Xi praised the Blacksmith and asked about upgrading purple equipment to Orange Equipment, and the Blacksmith said the item first needed the potential to reach Orange Equipment.

Ch. 721Fang Kang's Letter

Gu Xi received Fang Kang’s reply and chose to trade with him inside a game rather than travel to a Neutral City. The slow exchange of letters led Gu Xi to research faster messengers, but he found no useful method before Fang Kang’s next reply arrived.

  • Gu Xi read Fang Kang’s letter explaining that they lived far apart, making an in-person trade difficult, and Fang Kang offered a Neutral City or a game as meeting places.
  • Gu Xi chose to trade with Fang Kang inside a game and sent his decision back by crow.
  • Gu Xi realized that relying on owls and crows made communication too slow and went to the Radiant Library to research messengers.
  • Gu Xi found other players’ messenger research less capable than his Owl Building and discovered only a method for constructing mailboxes.
  • Three days later, Fang Kang’s next reply arrived.

Ch. 722Neutral Worlds and Cities

Fang Kang sent Gu Xi coordinates to a neutral elemental world and arranged to meet him there, prompting Gu Xi to travel beyond the Chaoyang Radiance Guild. After learning he could use Bailian City's public teleportation point, Gu Xi took a detour to Huayang Mall.

  • Fang Kang urged Gu Xi to visit other worlds and cities, sent him detailed coordinates, and explained that their destination was a safe trading city in a neutral elemental world.
  • Gu Xi went to the guild Teleportation Gate, where the attendant told him the coordinates led to a Public Exclusive World and that he had to apply at Bailian City's public teleportation point.
  • The attendant explained that Gu Xi could travel outside the guild because he had already completed his annual Guild Mission.
  • Gu Xi boarded a bone-and-crow-feather carriage driven by a Ferocious Weasel and asked to go to Huayang Mall instead of the public teleportation point.
  • The carriage crossed from the guild grounds into Bailian City, where the sky darkened and undead filled the streets, then arrived at Huayang Mall.
