After nightfall, Angel once again left her cozy home on Red Rose Street and took the subway, which ran late into the night, to the West Borough to visit an "old acquaintance," Artisan Kavi of the Machinery Hivemind.
When Angel had met her in Enmat Harbor, Kavi had claimed to be only a Sequence 7 Appraiser, which was why she had become the target of Tomaz, who sought advancement. But judging by how frequently she had been "producing" Beyonder Weapons lately, she had most likely advanced again and become a true "Artisan."
This left Angel looking forward to their meeting.
Before leaving home, she had placed all the Beyonder Ingredients she had gathered into a small hidden compartment she had remade in the basement rather than the original one in the study. Although the previous tenant, the Feysacian who had been taken away by gangsters without terminating his lease, had most likely lost his life, she had stopped using that compartment just to be safe.
Thanks to Sevillea's "generous" provision of Succubus hair, the only remaining ingredient from the Potion formula that she had yet to gather was Real Mummy Ashes. But after having been deceived once, she no longer dared buy it casually and intended to wait for a Beyonder gathering to purchase it there.
Her real reason for visiting Kavi was to buy a powerful weapon similar to Bloodthirst. After all, the Gold Pounds she had originally intended to use to buy Beyonder Ingredients no longer had anywhere to go.
After getting off the subway, Angel hired a carriage to Green Park Street in the West Borough. Though it was not an industrial district, it was close to the former West Baylun Shipyard, and there were many small factories nearby, mainly engaged in precision machining and custom parts.
