Pitch-black flames ignited on Angel's body. The heat scorched her flesh, curses eroded her soul, and still more destructive power spread along invisible mystical connections toward the last two members of the Reaper Legion. The armored soldiers, each over two meters tall, burned into shapeless masses of white-hot metal, lost their ability to float, and fell into the endless void below.
Several successive sounds of shattering glass rang out as Angel's mirror substitutes burned up in the Cursed Flame, just as she had done to the black-haired Demoness.
But she keenly noticed that the moment her image appeared in that strange silver mirror and the Demoness in a state of divine descent cursed her, the power that should have been capable of killing her suddenly weakened. From a level above sequence 1, close to that of the legendary King of Angel, it became an ordinary attack from a Catastrophe Demoness.
A curse of that strength was no longer lethal after she used Gathering of Crowds to distribute it among the other Tinplate Soldiers.
Most importantly, the Cursed Flame that could originally have burned along the mystical connection to her Mirror Person was now completely shut out of the City of Calamity due to its sudden drop in level.
The power within her belonging to Cheek, the Primordial Demoness... had vanished?
Angel extinguished the Black Flame still burning on her body, which could no longer cause her fundamental harm, then looked diagonally upward at the black-haired Demoness still holding the mysterious silver mirror. The other woman's azure eyes were fixed on her as well.
At that moment, Angel confirmed her suspicion, because she caught a flash of panic in the Demoness's eyes.
The tables had turned!
With divine descent ended, her enemy fell back to sequence 2, becoming a Catastrophe
