The words of Katarina, the White Saint, did not surprise Angel. After all, only minutes earlier, she had suffered an ambush from the Mirror World. Her attacker had pinpointed exactly when and where she would leave the Forsaken Land of the Gods, timed a divine descent perfectly, and supplemented it with a Sealed Artifact capable of damaging all her substitutes at once. The attack had nearly succeeded.
Of course, Angel did not believe that a mirror clearly only at the level of a Saint, far inferior to a Grade 0 Sealed Artifact, could truly kill her Mirror Person within the mirror image of the City of Calamity. It was similar to her own method of combining a War Bishop's boon with her Demoness abilities to instantly destroy all an opponent's Mirror Substitutions: it was unlikely to work on an existence whose Sequence or standing exceeded her own.
Thus, the Blue Witch's ambush had most likely been a probe—to test whether Angel's Mirror Person was truly indestructible, whether Angel's control of the Mirror World surpassed that of an ordinary Demoness angel, and whether she could withstand the Primordial Demoness's divine descent.
But if that was the case, the divine descent ending prematurely at the very moment the mirror Sealed Artifact took effect was rather strange...
The abruptly terminated "probe" was not the only thing Angel found strange. There was also the White Saint's attitude.
She actually warned me, an enemy of the Demoness Sect, to watch out for an attack... I thought the divisions within the sect were merely rivalries between factions, but doesn't this amount to Katarina defecting to the enemy?
Puzzled, Angel followed the prayer that had just ended and located its corresponding point of prayer light. She extended her spirituality toward it, and an image immediately appeared before
